Jordi Vilasuso is out as Rey Rosales. The actor, who joined the CBS soap in 2018, will make his last appearance sometime this spring. Vilasuso broke the news via his Instagram account, thanking the show’s powers-that-be, publicist and co-star Sharon Case, who plays his wife, Sharon, for their support during his four-year run.
Vilasuso previously appeared as Tony Santos on Guiding Light, Dr. Griffin Castillo on All My Children, and Dario Hernandez on Days of our Lives.
The Young and the Restless made its debut in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.
From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations to Rey Rosales’s (Jordi Vilasuso) heroism to the adorable love story of Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King), Y&R knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more.
