Doug Davidson, who hasn’t aired as police chief Paul Williams since 2020, has officially left the building and, apparently, Y&R for good. The actor, who created the character back in 1978, took to social media to report that he had cleared out his dressing room. The actor thanked fans for their “kind messages” and noted that he was “eternally grateful to Bill and Lee Bell (the soap’s co-creators) and CBS for EVERYTHING!” On-screen it was noted that Paul retired from his police job and moved to Portugal, after ending his marriage to Christine (Lauralee Bell).
Lily Brooks O’Briant is back on the scene as Lucy Romalotti, Daniel’s (Michael Graziadei) daughter. The teenager will pop in for another visit to Genoa City beginning Wednesday, August 9.
