Soap Opera Casting For The Week Of December 06, 2021

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.

General Hospital

After months off the General Hospital canvas, Genie Francis is set to return as Port Charles mayor, Laura Collins. She’ll be joined by her TV brother, Michael E. Knight, who plays attorney Martin Gray. Both characters will air this week.

Parry Shen is set to pop back in as Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) best friend, Brad Cooper. So too will be Lydia Look, who portrays Brad’s aunt and crime lord Selina Wu. Look airs on Thursday, December 9 in scenes with Thiebaud.

GH favorite, Kristina Wagner, took to Twitter to report that she is back on the set and on contract, taping scenes as Felicia Scorpio. Wagner last aired in May, as part of the soap’s special episode to honor the late John Reilly, who played Sean Donely.

Last, but not least, Brady Bauer is now portraying Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) and Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) son, Rocco Falconeri. The role on the soap opera was previously played by O’Neill Monahan.

The Young and the Restless

Over at The Young and the Restless, Melissa Claire Egan returns as Chelsea Lawson on Tuesday, December 14. The actress has been off on maternity leave since July, and gave birth to her first child, Caden Robert Katrosar, on August 21.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Daytime vet Krista Allen is joining The Bold and the Beautiful cast as Dr. Taylor Hayes, Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), and Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) mother. She’ll make her debut on Friday, December 10. The character was originated by Hunter Tylo in 1990 and has been on and off the canvas over the last three decades. Allen played Billie Reed on Days of our Lives from 1996 to 1999.

The Price is Right model Alexis Gaube returns as a Forrester Creations model on Tuesday, December 7. In addition, Hollis W. Chambers portrays Paul on Thursday, December 9, and Friday, December 10.

Days of our Lives

Kyle Lowder returns to Days of our Lives as Rex Brady on Tuesday, December 7, when the character pays a visit to his parents, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and Kate Roberts (Kate). Lowder made his last appearance on the soap opera on March 22, when Rex skipped town after being dumped by “Sarah” (actually Kristen DiMera).

After months of using baby dolls and stuffed blankets, one of Lani Price (Sal Stowers) and Eli Grant’s (Lamon Archey) twins has been cast. Arya and Wynter Wells made their debut as Carver Grant, last week.

Y&R is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
