Looks like Taylor Hayes will get to meet her grandson after all. The Bold and the Beautiful has recast the part of the good doctor, previously played by Hunter Tylo, with actress Krista Allen, formerly Billie Reed on Days of our Lives.

Krista Allen Is The Bold and the Beautiful’s New Taylor

EW.com first reported the news and reports that the actress is set to start taping scenes on Friday, October 28. She’ll be working with ex-TV hubby Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and TV daughter Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).

The stunning star reacted on her official Twitter account saying, “This is gonna be a fun one! Very excited to step into this iconic role and be back on Daytime after 25 years! … Omg T-W-E-N-T-Y F-I-V-E years?”

Reportedly, the show reached out to Tylo first about coming back to the show but those efforts did not meet with success. Allen will have no problem finding the TV City studios where the CBS soap opera shoots. As veteran B&B fans recall, the actress appeared on the half-hour series in 1996, as Shelley, a waitress at Bikini. Shelley shared screen time with Sly Donovan (Brent Jasmer), who tried to use the sexy young woman to make his ex, Macy (Bobbie Eakes), jealous.

Next, Allen took over the role of Billie Reed on DAYS after Lisa Rinna exited the role. During Allen’s tenure in Salem, which ran from 1996 to 1999, Billie gave birth to Bo Brady’s (Peter Reckell) daughter Georgia, who apparently died shortly after delivery. (Years later, that baby turned out to be alive and was going by the name Chelsea.)

Allen, once romantically linked to film star George Clooney, has a slew of other credits on her resume including Baywatch, Charmed, Two and a Half Men, Modern Family, and 9-1-1.

The Triangle With Taylor, Ridge, And Brooke

B&B fans recall that the Taylor/Ridge/Brooke triangle drove much of the show’s action for nearly 20 years starting in 1990. Taylor was the oncologist of a dying Caroline (Joanna Johnson), who asked her doctor to look in on her husband after her death.

This isn’t the first time Taylor’s been recast. Tylo was briefly replaced with Sherilyn Wolter (ex-Celia, General Hospital), who played the part during Tylo’s first year on the show. Taylor’s specialty switched to psychiatry following Caroline’s death. She started dating Ridge and doled out advice here and there to characters including Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery), Felicia Forrester (Colleen Dion), and Jake Maclaine (Todd McKee).

Ridge bounced back and forth between Taylor and Brooke. Usually, the birth or paternity of a child or a perceived infidelity influenced his decision as to which lady he’d choose. Taylor was killed off not once but twice in 1994 and 2002, only to return to the land of the living both times. Stephanie faked a heart attack, hoping to prompt Ridge to choose Taylor but after her ruse was exposed, Ridge returned to Brooke.

Taylor’s Last Stay On The Bold And The Beautiful

The character popped up a few years ago, revealed as Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) surprise shooter, and was furious that Bill had slept with Steffy. Earlier this year, Steffy gave birth to Finn’s (Tanner Novlan) son and they named him “Hayes” after Taylor. What Steffy may not have known is that Taylor’s ex-husband Blake Hayes (Peter Brown) was violent and abusive. Perhaps Taylor will inform her daughter of Blake’s past and a name change will be in the offing for the newborn.
