The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal a day like no other as Sharon finally, finally cracks under the pressure. Rey is relentless, but he has NO idea what’s coming. When he hears what Sharon has to say, it changes EVERYTHING.
When Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) questions Sharon (Sharon Case) about the phone bill with the 9-1-1 call the night JT (Thad Luckinbill) disappeared, she puts up quite a fight and accuses him of using her to solve the JT mystery.
Heck, even his late night visit and declaration of love seems a little off and Sharon tells him just that, bringing up all the lies he told about himself when he first arrived in Genoa City.
She definitely has some points, but Rey can tell she’s just deflecting. So, Sharon figures she better give him some version of the truth and pray she’s somehow matching Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) story. Then, she promises him they will get back to the love talk when she’s done.
This makes Rey happy, so he’s willing to listen to anything she has to say, but as the story goes on, there are too many holes. Sharon starts by saying this was just a girls’ night to make Victoria (Amelia Heinle) feel better about her break up with JT — no serious talk.
Sharon also let it slip that it was that night the ladies learned JT had been abusing Victoria, so clearly the conversation turned to serious talk after all.
As Rey goes over Nikki’s story and sees the confused look Sharon does her best to hide, he still manages to go in the wrong direction because he seems to have a one-track mind — find something on the Newman men and make them pay.
Except, it wasn’t the Newman men who did this and Sharon knows it. Rey then remembers Sharon asking him if others had been arrested once she learned about Nikki. He then draws the wrong conclusion that Nick (Joshua Morrow) had to be one of the others.

Sharon immediately jumps to Nick’s defense, but Rey, in all his cluelessness, reminds her that if Nick goes down, he can’t protect her so there’s no need for her to continue protecting him.
Rey keeps going through what he thinks he knows about that April night and Sharon begs him to stop.
As Rey keeps hammering questions at her, it hits him Nikki never left with a weapon that night and never left at all.
Finally, Sharon blurts out what she’s been dying to say for nearly a year:
“It was self-defense. We had no choice.” Rey looks at her and finally understands. After nearly a YEAR, it all makes sense. So, now what?
