The Young and the Restless Recap, Monday, July 1: Chelsea’s Return

The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, July 1 features Chelsea filling Adam in on her motivation for returning to Genoa City, Phyllis smelling a rat where Kevin is concerned, and Elena helping Devon get rid of Hilary’s things.

You Have To Move On
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) stopped Adam (Mark Grossman) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) from pummeling each other. Adam told Nick to leave. He needed to talk to Chelsea. Adam assumed she’s come back to him and started making plans for the three of them to be a family again.

Chelsea reminded Adam she’s married, Connor has a new dad, and she only came back to end things between them. Adam ranted that if Chelsea lied to Conner the way Hope (Signy Coleman) lied to him, Connor will hate Chelsea for it.

Chelsea swore Connor will never know he’s a Newman. Chelsea insisted she no longer loved Adam and walked out on him.

Smell Test
Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) sniffed Kevin’s (Greg Rikaart) aftershave and determined he’s the one who kidnapped her. Kevin stammered and denied, pointing out that lots of men wear the same cologne, but Phyllis wasn’t convinced.

Later, she also wasn’t thrilled with Nick’s memories of how Phyllis broke him and Chelsea up by running her out of town.

Phyllis reminded him that Chelsea was selling knock-off copies of her own designs to undermine Fenmore’s and, when Phyllis found her out, threatened to reveal Conner’s paternity to Nick. Nick said Phyllis never takes responsibility for her actions.

Devon (Bryton James) remembered Hilary’s (Mishael Morgan) first day at the station, as well as her other wonderful moments.

Then he boxed up her things and asks Elena (Brytni Sarpy) to help him get rid of them. Elena worried it’s too soon, but Devon insisted he’s fine and thanked Elena for bringing him out of the dark. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
