The Young and the Restless recap for Wednesday, April 24 featured word spreading through Genoa City about Neil’s death, as grudges were put aside, tears were shed, and support was offered.
Family Time
First, Lily (Christel Khalil) demanded that Nate explains to her how a young, healthy, vital man like Neil (Kristoff St. John) could just lay down to take a nap and never wake up.
Nate hypothesized it might have been a stroke, but that’s not good enough for Lily. She was convinced she killed Neil. Her dad was so worried about her being in jail. Devon (Bryton James) took some of the blame, too, pointing out that Neil was rushing home to there for Society’s opening.
Cane (Daniel Goddard) assured Lily that Neil adored her, and held Lily as she sobbed. Devon saw a vision of his dad and also broke down sobbing.
The Newmans
Victor (Eric Braeden) was about to tell Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) where he’s been all these weeks when Jack (Peter Bergman) called to tell him of Neil’s death. The Newmans grieved their friend, while Abby (Melissa Ordway) told her dad she didn’t know what she’d do if anything ever happened to him.
Sibling Sympathy
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Jack (Peter Bergman) were also broken-hearted over Neil. They remembered the last time they saw him and their most important moments with him.
Jack recalled how Neil kept him from taking pills again — right after he found out he wasn’t John’s son (thanks for that, sis). Jack also said he was thrilled when Ashley and Neil hooked up.
Ashley beat herself up for not keeping in better touch and just thinking they could pick things up where they left off whenever Ashley decided she felt like it. Jack and Ashley tearfully called a truce.
