The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, June 18, 2021, offers an early father’s day treat to Abby, who gets news about her baby, to Kyle who grows closer to Harrison, and to Ashland, who is making plans to hold onto the boy he considers his.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Abby (Melissa Ordway) summons Christine (Lauralee Bell) to her home and asks what’s going on with Chance. She heard a federal agent was shot somewhere in the world, and the last time she spoke to her husband on the phone, there were some loud noises.

So, obviously, he had to have been the victim. Chris says she has no idea what goes on at the federal level, she hasn’t worked for them in years. Oh, OK, a formerly near-hysterical Abby shrugs.

Later, Mariah (Camryn Grimes) slips and reveals that she’s carrying a boy. Mariah freaks that Abby will be furious since she insisted she didn’t want to know the baby’s sex until she and Chance could find out together. But now she’s pretty chill about it. Abby is not being exactly consistent these days.

Hail, Hail, the Gang’s All Here

Kyle (Michael Mealor) grows nearly as hysterical as Abby when Harrison loses a ball Kyle gave him. The idea of his son not being happy every second of the day is more than Kyle can bear. He makes plans to have a sleepover with Harrison and, of course, to get him a new ball right away.

Summer (Hunter King) makes her usual grouchy face, though considering Tara (Elizabeth Leiner) told her to move to Europe or Kyle would never see his son again, you can’t really blame her. She tells her she’s going to spill her plan to Kyle, take that!

Jack (Peter Bergman) comes by at that moment to observe that if Kyle were to lose Harrison, he would never get over it. This is all about him, after all. Later, Kyle assures Summer that it’s all about her. But she’s still less than satisfied. And then Summer gets a job offer as part of the Europe plan… (Thanks, Sally!)

Modern Family

Ashland (Richard Burgi) doesn’t want Harrison to know he’s dying. But he told Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Somehow making it the weirdest pick-up line ever. It, nonetheless, works. She wants to talk about their future!

How about a merger… professionally speaking. And then we’ll see what happens personally. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
