The Young and the Restless is ringing in 2022, along with the rest of the world, and it’s time for a few of Genoa City’s residents to make some New Year’s resolutions. Since they’re not announcing them, we’ve created a fun list of our own for some of your favorite characters.

Young and the Restless New Year’s Resolutions

Although we doubt he’ll follow through, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) should resolve to stop living his life warring with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

Speaking of Adam, we’d love to see him put the brakes on Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) manipulative behavior when it comes to her calling him for one random reason or another. If he’s not interested in reuniting, he needs to ensure that Chelsea knows that and sticks to it. As a bonus, Adam should make a resolution to run his own love life, regardless of what his ex or his father thinks. Sparks fly between Adam and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope), and we’re tired of seeing him push her away for Chelsea’s sake.

Regarding Chelsea, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) seems enamored with her despite her poisoning him and attempting to set up Adam to take the fall. That doesn’t seem too romantic to us, yet Rey is way too close to Chelsea for comfort. We hope Rey resolves not to allow her to manipulate him to make Adam jealous.

As far as Rey goes, his wife Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) should resolve to get herself an actual therapy practice. Handing out advice along with coffee doesn’t seem like the best way to help the people in Genoa City. Sure, we know that coffee is necessary, and the barista is the new bartender, but it’s not practical. She got a degree so Sharon needs to put her education to work for herself and her clients.

Sharon’s ex-husband Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) needs to resolve to stop being in such a bad mood. He took stock of things, and now he needs to roll into 2022, focusing on the positive and moving his life in a good direction helping others.

Speaking of others, Nick’s son Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) should resolve to stop mooning over his sister’s girlfriend and his lost London love. Instead, Noah needs to focus on something else, and Y&R spoilers hint that his dad has just the thing for him.

As for Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), she needs to resolve to take her relationship with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) to the next level with a commitment in addition to parenthood.

New Year, New Habits

New Young and the Restless parents, Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd), need to protect their family. While Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) is their son’s biological father, they should resolve not to blur the lines anymore, considering his recent request for shared custody.

Although he’s focused on Dominic, Devon’s New Year’s resolution should be to start a family of his own if he’s ready to be a dad. Perhaps Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) would be willing to try for a child with him, or he could more fully examine his lingering feelings for Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy).

In Elena’s case, she needs to resolve to fully commit to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) before she finishes moving in with him.

Speaking of commitments, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) needs to commit to stop propping up Billy in his wild schemes against Adam and Victor. She’s smarter than that.

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is also smart, and she needs to resolve to stop playing games where Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) is concerned. Does she want to revisit their relationship or not? Perhaps 2022 is the time for her to decide and stick to her decision.

As for decisions, it seems like Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) has one coming up because her new husband, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi), isn’t sold on her new blackmail plan with her ex-husband Billy. So she’s probably going to have to make a choice soon, and she should resolve to break her old habits and make a healthy decision.

Speaking of healthy, we hope that Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) resolves to put her health first as the new year rolls in. She rubbed her hands around Christmas, and we noticed. Hopefully, it’s not a sign of something brewing with Nikki’s MS.

Finally, Nikki’s husband Victor needs to resolve to focus on his family in a positive way in 2022. We want to see him stop playing his children off of each other. Perhaps he can be a dad first for once instead of having business as his priority.
