Daniel Goddard is a fan favorite on The Young and the Restless. He’s grateful to his supporters who helped bring his character back to life, and now the actor is happy about something else — today’s his birthday!
A native of Australia, Goddard joined Y&R back in 2007 as Ethan Cane Ashby, a bartender who quickly worked his way into the Genoa City business world and was soon tied to a core family on the show.
Originally, Cane was revealed to be the true Phillip Chancellor III, having been switched at birth by Kay Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper), who didn’t want Jill (Jess Walton) raising her late husband’s son.
While that story made sense — and earned Cooper her overdue Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress — a subsequent regime reversed the whole thing. Cane was now the child of Colin and Genevieve Atkinson (Tristan Rogers and Genie Francis).
While Cane’s paternity has been in flux, his love for Lily (Christel Khalil) has remained a constant. The two characters are big fan favorites. Viewers simply don’t want to accept either of them with anyone else on the canvas!
A finance major in college, Goddard got the acting bug and gave up adding up numbers to breaking hearts on the Australian soap Home and Away. Next, he landed the lead role in the syndicated series Beastmaster.
He later appeared on such series as Wild Card and Monk.
Off-screen, he’s happily wed to wife Rachael and is a devoted family man to their two sons, Ford and Sebastian. Away from the show, Goddard is also pals with co-star Bryton James (Devon).
Soap Hub joins the actor’s family, Y&R co-workers, friends, and fans in wishing him the happiest of birthdays and many happy returns and you can too with the tweet link below!
