The Days of Our Lives recap for Tuesday, August 28 features Marlena’s loved ones gathered around her — including Sami, who was sorry for all she’d done.
The Family Gathers
Marlena (Deidre Hall) started to code as John (Drake Hogestyn) watched helplessly while Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Valerie (Vanessa Williams) tried to save her.
To The Slammer
Sami (Alison Sweeney) tried to tell Rafe (Galen Gering) that everything that happened to her mom was Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) fault. Rafe wanted to take her to the station but she refused.
As for Kristen, she reveals to Brady (Eric Martsolf) that she has Eve (Kassie DePaiva) and if he wants to see her again, he has to do as she said. She threatened to kill Eve and Brady. Later, Brady faced Kristen alone.
The Will-Paul-Sonny Love Triangle Continues
Will (Chandler Massey) had the chance to tell Paul (Christopher Sean) he remembered his life but instead Will lied. He headed to the hospital to check on his grandmother.

Keeping Vigil
Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) tried to comfort Eric (Greg Vaughan) while Belle (Martha Madison) railed against Sami. When Rafe went to take Sami in, Belle wanted him to throw away the key. John and Steve (Stephen Nichols) exited, looking horrified.
Steve revealed Marlena flatlined but made it and was now being prepped for surgery. Belle railed at Sami. Will arrived and supported Sami as they wheeled out Marlena, with nary a hair out of place, so she could have a word with her kids. Will even told her he remembers.
Sami got a moment with her and told her mom she loves her and that she has to get better. John hugged Sami as she apologized to him too.
He then shared a private moment with Doc, telling her they still had a wedding to finish as Kayla wheeled her to surgery. Alone, John cried.
