The Young and the Restless recaps for December 13 – December 17, 2021, feature rapprochement, self-doubt, spy games, and so much more.
Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) employs subterfuge to get Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) in the same room. The men tentatively reconcile, and Victor exalts Nick’s prowess as a parent…Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) agrees to further collaborations with Newman Media – much to Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) delight.
Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) romances Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway). After making love, he admits that he accepted the overseas mission because he felt like a failure for not being able to father a child. When Abby falls asleep, Chance meanders to Society. He runs into a brooding Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and confesses his fears that he’s not up to fulfilling the expectations of others – especially Abby and Dominic’s.
Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) broaches the subject of sending Johnny and Katie to boarding school at the start of the new year; Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) agrees when he realizes that it plays into the narrative of him falling back into his old, bad ways.
Adam is gifted was appears to be proof that Billy is backsliding; he’s desperate to find out who sent him the unsolicited footage but gets no joy…Chole Mitchell (Melissa Claire Egan) thrills at Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Ordway) return to Genoa City. Despite her best efforts, Chloe isn’t able to persuade Chelsea to commit to joining her at Newman Fashions.
Chelsea descends upon the Newman ranch; her presence perturbs Victor, Nikki, and Adam…Victoria and Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) double date with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy)…Chloe warns Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) to be cautious in her dealings with Billy…Nate circuitously asks Elena to move in with him.
Billy and Lily take notice of the mystery blonde tailing the former; they put on a show for her…Chelsea wonders if there’s a chance for reconciliation between her and Adam; he answers in the negative. Chelsea and Connor are reunited…Devon commits himself to being there for Dominic as much as humanly possible.
Christine Blair Williams (Lauralee Bell) delights Chance and Abby with the news that the terrorists responsible for the recent upheaval have all been captured…Chance takes a meeting with Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) (off-camera) to ascertain whether or not he’s ready to return to active duty.
Chloe catches a disguised Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) filming Billy and Lily; she confesses that she’s doing it on behalf of Newman Media, but stresses it was not at Adam’s request. When pressed by Adam as to whether or not she’s his secret benefactor, Sally keeps mum.
After taking note of Noah’s interactions with Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) pointedly asks him if he’s harboring a crush on his ex; Noah poo-poos the idea…Tessa surprises Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) by asking if she’s still interested in starting a family of their own.
Chelsea presents herself to Ray Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) and Sharon Collins Rosales (Sharon Case) – who are dubious of her claims of a full recovery – then has a sit-down with Sally. Afterward, Chelsea agrees to join the fashion platform – but she warns Chloe that Sally had better not make a play for Adam…To Lily’s relief, Billy seems amenable to cluing Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) in on his charade.
