Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) contemplates retiring from his position as D.A. Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman) gathers Michael’s nearest and dearest in the hopes that they’ll be able to help him make a decision. In the end, it’s Lauren’s advice – do what will make you happy – that convinces Michael to pack it in.

Young and Restless Recaps: Tuesday, January 11

Nicholas Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) family throws him a surprise (belated) birthday party. Nick reveals that he offered Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) a job at New Hope. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) lets slip that she and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) are planning to adopt.

Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) encourages Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) to use the courts to gain more visitation with Dominic…Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) endures flashbacks of his time in Spain. Abby Carlton Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) grows increasingly concerned for her husband.

Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) confronts Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) about the “Best of luck at Chancellor” text he sent her. Adam insists that it is exactly as it appears; Lily is dubious.

Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) receives word that she’s won the bidding war for ChancComm; Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) congratulates her; Victoria reveals that she wants to purchase Newman Media as well. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) isn’t interested in selling; Victoria cautions him against putting his faith in Adam

Devon tells Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Lily that he intends he fight for joint custody of Dominic…Lily fills Devon in on recent developments, including Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) agreement to join her at Chancellor. Devon worries that Billy might be more of a hindrance than a help…Ashland shares some good news with Nate: his cancer is abating.

Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) attempts to make peace with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) are rebuffed. Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) gives Sally an assignment that will necessitate her traveling to New York City; Sally gauges Adam’s interest in accompanying her. Chelsea plans to use Sally’s absence to her advantage where Adam is concerned.

Chelsea thinks that she has the advantage over Sally when it comes to Adam…After Victoria besmirches Adam’s prowess as a businessman, Victor informs his son that he’ll be taking on a more active role in the running of Newman Media…Lily keeps close tabs on Billy.
