The Young and the Restless recap for Monday, June 8 goes back 24 years to kick off Great Romances week, as Victor says flowery words, Nikki wears some truly impressive shoulder pads, Jack’s dad meets an enchanting new woman, and Paul’s friend tries to figure out the woman he’s with.
The Young and the Restless Recap
Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) are on the outs, and Victor and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) are on the… ins. Victor has just been Ashley’s hero, rescuing her when she had amnesia and was working as a waitress
Now Victor is waxing poetic about how Ashley is the most perfectly matched woman for him that he could imagine. And he does have a point. Victor is mature, sophisticated, driven, and high class. Ashley is also those things.
Nikki is none of those things. On paper, she and Victor have nothing in common. And yet… we all know how this will ultimately end, don’t we?
Meanwhile, Victor gives his brother, Matt (Robert Parucha), his papal dispensation to take out Nikki. Which he does. They drink champagne. And pretend this relationship has any chance at all as long as Victor is alive.
Faren Can’t Remember
Andy (Steven Ford – he’s Gerald Ford’s son and also the guy Meg Ryan is kissing at the airport when Harry Met Sally) is mad at Lauren (Tracey Bregman) for suggesting that his amnesiac girlfriend, Faren, should find out who she used to be. When fans find out her lame secret, they’re going to be mad at Lauren, too.
Second Round
Lauren’s mom, Joanna (Susan Seaforth Hays AKA Julie on Days of our Lives) flirts shamelessly with John (Jerry Douglas). The man is a serious catch. But Joanna doesn’t end up catching him. She comes and goes pretty quickly. Genoa City’s loss is Salem’s gain! The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
