On The Young and the Restless, when Jack was looking for help figuring out whether his biological father might be Albert Miller, and Victor refused to share some DNA, he reached out to Victor’s brother, Matt Miller.
The last time Matt was a regular in Genoa City, he was played by Robert Parucha from 1985 to 1987. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) wanted Matt to romance Ashley (Eileen Davidson) away from Victor (Eric Braeden).
Matt offered to marry Ashley when she became pregnant with Victor’s baby (that vasectomy of his was really, really botched), but Ashley chose to abort instead.
This time around, Matt was played by Richard Gleason, and the bulk of his time was spent proving how terrified the grown man still was of his big brother, when Matt refused to help Jack (Peter Bergman) because he was afraid of upsetting Victor.
But is there more story potential there? Should Matt stick around Genoa City? Here’s how over 5,000 viewers voted.
More Matt
Sure, 67% of you shrug. You’re open to the possibility. Matt has past relationships with Nikki and Ashley. And he and Victor have a lot of brotherly bonding still left to do. Which likely won’t happen if he picks up either of his past relationships with Nikki or Ashley.
Stay Gone
No thanks, 34% dismissed. It’s bad enough hearing Victor whine about his tragic childhood and his big, bad daddy – we don’t need Matt joining him – or giving Victor excuses to do it more often.
Ashley is on her way out, and Nikki, if she turns on Victor again, has made it clear she prefers younger, more handsome bed partners.
Last Minute Thoughts
A handful of write-in votes all expressed a similar sentiment: Who cares? Matt didn’t capture your imagination the last time you saw him, and you don’t expect more exposure to change that.
