The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, August 27, 2021, brings the Mariah mystery to a head as Stitch Rayburn confesses to Abby Chancellor, Rey Rosales and Devon Hamilton get a lead – with Victor Newman feeling left out, and Mariah Copeland prepares to deliver little Bowie on her own.
The manly men rescue squad of Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), Devon (Bryton James), and Victor (Eric Braeden) are pacing up and down The Grand Phoenix lobby, each yelling into their cell phones.
Rey tells Victor not to have his private security forces track down Stitch (Sean Carrigan), don’t be a hero, call Rey right away. Victor tells Rey the same thing. Uhm… what? The trained cop (and ex-Fed who stopped a hostage situation in the same lobby) needs to call the 80-year-old mogul for help with an arrest?
After Victor leaves, it’s Devon’s PI (private enterprise beats government inefficiency?) who finds the house Stitch rented two months ago, and Rey and Devon head out.
Victor arrives at Abby’s (Melissa Ordway), but she’s gone. Without his help, Abby got Stitch to admit that he was suffering so much, thinking about his sick son and the baby he and Abby lost, that he snapped and kidnapped Mariah. He then politely takes Abby to her.
Poor Mariah has been laboring without pain medication for hours and thinks she’s hallucinating when she sees Abby. Devon and Rey pop in next. Now it’s a party!
Abby wants to drive Mariah to the hospital, but there’s no time. They wait for paramedics, but Abby assures she’s read books and watched videos – she’s totes got this! Abby delivers the baby boy whom she deems beautiful based purely on looking at the top of his head.
Rey and Devon agree he’s adorable. Abby holds him. Then Devon holds him. Anyone want to show Mariah the product of her labor (pun intended)? Eh, she didn’t really do much. She can hold him next week.
