The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, December 31, 2020, ends this tumultuous year with Chelsea in surgery, Abby and Chance in an endless loop, Devon and Amanda in isolation, and Sharon and Rey looking forward to the future.
When Adam (Mark Grossman) popped his head into Sharon (Sharon Case) and Rey’s (Jordi Vilasuso) wedding, it looked like it was about to become a bumpy night. Especially after Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) needled him about really being in love with Sharon, not Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan).
Phyllis saw Adam at the ceremony, but she was the only one. In an uncharacteristic move for him, much less any Newman, Adam kept his mouth shut. He simply waited for Sharon and Rey to say their I Do’s, then left.
Adam came home in time to find Chelsea collapsed on the floor. She ended up in surgery to repair her burst blood vessel, while Adam, who thinks everything is about him, obviously assumed it was all his fault. Yes, he’s that self-centered.
Chance (Donny Boaz) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) kept having sex and talking about what an amazing couple they are.
Devon (Bryton James) and Amanda (Mishael Morgan) parted awkwardly without so much as a New Year’s Eve handshake, much less a kiss. She called her birth mother but couldn’t speak, again. He dreamed of kissing Elena (Brytni Sarpy)… who then turned into Amanda. In real life, Elena got a text from Nate. Who doesn’t know when to give up.
Nick (Joshua Morrow) comes home from Sharon’s (Sharon Case) wedding to a nearly naked Phyllis.
Sharon and Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) came home from their wedding to begin their honeymoon. They were alone because Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) is spending the night with Jordan. And the vodka she stole.
