The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, June 24, 2021, competes to see whether Kyle Abbott or Summer Newman can squeeze out more tears to convey their intense sads. Plus, Amanda Sinclair confronts Naya.
Summer (Hunter King) tells Kyle (Michael Mealor) she’s changed her mind. She doesn’t want to marry him and spend the rest of her life cooing as he wipes Harrison’s nose. She wants to go to Milan and further her career. Kyle cannot imagine any woman wanting such a thing. He offers some compromises, but Summer says no, she’s just not that into you – and being a stepmother.
Kyle goes running to his dad, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), sobbing that he doesn’t understand why he can’t have his son and the love of his life. Why can’t a rich, white man like him never have it all?
Kyle vows to convince Summer to do things his way, and rushes out of the house, while Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) eavesdrops evilly. She then questions Jack – sweetly. Ooh, how devious she is! She texts Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) so they can cyber-high-five.
Summer also goes running to her parent, although, in this case, she’s not happy to hear that Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) told Nick (Joshua Morrow) about her dilemma. Nick Newman wants to know what Kyle did to make Summer want to flee the country?
Summer insists Kyle is great, everything is great, she just needs to run away and never look back. Kyle catches up with Summer at her hotel and makes a sad, pleading face at her. She makes a sad, pleading face back.
Amanda (Mishael Morgan) confronts Naya (Ptosha Storey) about what really happened between her and Richard. She learns that Naya spoke to Richard and confirmed that she’d given birth to – and given away – his twin daughters.
Amanda is convinced that Naya went running to her father, Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) – and that Sutton killed Richard in order to keep his illegitimate grandchildren a secret. Naya denies. Amanda ain’t buying it. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
