The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, August 5, 2021 reviews Phyllis Summers crying as she talks about Summer Newman, Summer crying as she talks to Kyle Abbott and Phyllis, Tara Locke crying as she talks to Jack Abbott, Victoria Newman crying as she talks to Ashland Locke, and Naya Benedict crying as she talks to Amanda Sinclair. Will you be able to remain dry-eyed?
Summer (Hunter King) doesn’t want to talk to Kyle (Michael Mealor). So she video-chats him. That makes sense. Summer doesn’t want Kyle to know why she left town. So she tells him it was because Tara (Elizabeth Leiner) threatened to keep him away from Harrison (Kellen Enriquez) if she didn’t. Which is the truth.
At the same time, Tara is confessing all to Jack (Peter Bergman) – but making sure he understands it was all Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) idea. Tara was just an innocent victim.
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) has barely finished sobbing to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) about how she can’t live with her beloved daughter being out of town when Summer calls to weep about how her mother is ruining everything by investigating Tara and Sally.
Summer then sobs some more to her parents, confessing the same thing she confessed to Kyle. This is all Phyllis’s fault! Nick is so moved by how wonderful his daughter is, he almost cries.
Kyle comes home all livid about what he’s learned. Jack already knows and talks him down. Now Kyle is crying. Bad Tara! Bad, bad Tara!
Naya (Ptosha Story) cries to Amanda (Mishael Morgan) about how she idolized her father and didn’t want to believe he could be a killer. Amanda understands, doesn’t she? Nah, Amanda doesn’t. She still plans to go after Sutton Ames (Jack Landron) with a civil suit. Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) tries to talk Amanda out of it. Amanda cries.
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is sniffly as she tells Ashland (Richard Burgi) how their relationship is the most intense thing that ever happened to her, and she’s ready to tie the knot. Let’s do it big time!
