The Young and the Restless Recap: Dilemmas And Rash Decisions

The Young and the Restless recap for November 16-20, 2020, features Victor pulling out all the stops, Faith in crisis, and Elena making a decision about her love life…kinda.

The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights

Victor’s (Eric Braeden) always the first to notice a Newman in crisis. The problems arise when he attempts to step in and offer his version of assistance. Take for instance his handling of Adam (Mark Grossman).

He let him get away with manslaughter when he was a boy, then he sat idly by while he cut a swath of destruction across the landscape as an adult. He gave him chance after chance after chance. A few more bodies piled up, there was some attempted patricide, and still, Victor forgave and forgot.

Victor Takes Charge

But now that he’s learned that Adam masterminded an attack that would have (most likely) leveled Newman Tower with nearly the whole family inside, Victor decided drastic action was needed.

So, while Adam was sweet-talking his way back into Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) life, Victor sat about arranging for his son to be confined to an asylum. We’re gonna deem this one a case of too little, too late.

YR Musings

When in doubt, blame Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). You won’t be the first. And you won’t be the last. In Genoa City, it’s kind of a right of passage. But we’re going to go out on a limb here and say that he isn’t the one responsible for the attempt on Adam’s life.

A predisposition to addiction runs in families, and the Newmans are no exception. Nikki (Melody Thomas) is fond of vodka tonics – hold the tonic – and opioid chasers. Victor is incapable of letting a relative have a thought or feeling of their own. And Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) made it his life’s goal to be everyone’s personal Jiminy Cricket.

So Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) had better watch herself and her budding fascination with all-night ragers. And speaking of, was there anybody else out there a little miffed over Nick’s treatment of Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and her handling of Faith’s situation?

She attempted to tell him more than once about his daughter’s drinking, but he was too focused on railing at her over her displeasure at working with Victoria.

Having realized that the only way to go is forward, Elena (Brytni Sarpy) has decided that she’s ready to accept the possibility that perhaps she and Nate (Sean Dominic) could become a bona fide couple. But Lord knows that if Devon (Bryton James) came a calling she’d drop the hot doc like an overly warm potato.

Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) isn’t the kind of gal that one should ignore or say no to. She tried really, really hard to be a dutifully little secretary to Lauren (Tracey E. Bregman). She really did.

But then Lauren had to go and offer Summer a job that Sally is far more qualified for and Jack (Peter Bergman) refused to intercede. So, it’s only natural that Sally is now Team Theo (Tyler Johnson) all the way. Boy, are those executive types going to be sorry…maybe. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
