The Young and the Restless recap for December 28, 2020-January 1, 2021, features a New Year’s Eve wedding and a shocking collapse. Just another memorable day in Genoa City!
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
There are some old superstitions about weddings that alter bound Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) failed to heed. First, they did not spend the night before the ceremony apart. Then, he knew exactly what her dress looked like prior to the ceremony.
Perhaps if the two had poo-pooed the old ways, their vows wouldn’t have been darkened by the evil shadow that is Adam (Mark Grossman), and maybe their wedding day wouldn’t have coincided with Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) brain aneurysm bursting like an overinflated balloon.
And maybe if they paid closer attention to Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) she wouldn’t have felt the need to raid the family liquor cabinet in a futile effort to impress her less-than-stable “bestie” – but that’s an entirely different matter altogether. What we’re saying is that it could have all gone better.
Heck, they couldn’t even keep ahold of Tessa (Cat Fairbanks), their live entertainment, and instead, they had to settle for a recording of the song she penned and warbled for them.
YR Musings
Does anyone else think that Abby (Melissa Ordway) is going a bit overboard with her frustration at not being with child? It’s been, what, a week, maybe two, since she and Chance (Donny Boaz) decided to actually begin trying for one and now she can’t even stand to have someone TALK about their own children without going all broody.
Had Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) not offered Nick (Joshua Morrow) that naughty birthday surprise, would you have actually remembered that the Newman heir was born on December 31? Speaking of, did Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), or Victoria (Amelia Heinle), or ANYONE else remember the occasion?
Devon (Bryton James) and Elena (Brytni Sarpy) are STILL pining for one another and yet their also pining for another. When it comes to the complicated quad – which also includes Amanda (Mishael Morgan) and Nate (Sean Dominic) – who do you want to see end up together?
Whose absence during the Shey wedding was the most egregious: Doris, the bride’s mother, or Noah (Robert Adamson), the bride’s son? The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
