Kristoff St. John died over two years ago, but his presence at The Young and the Restless as Neil Winters has not been forgotten. The show plans to honor him with another special episode this month.
People magazine reports that on Friday, May 28, YR will celebrate St. John’s life and honor Neil in a meaningful episode. Watch as Neil’s children, Lily (Christel Khalil), Devon (Bryton James), and Moses (Jacob Aaron Gaines), plan a walking tour through Genoa City that will highlight sights and sounds from Neil’s past. The episode will include flashbacks from St. John’s years on the CBS soap opera.
Also set to appear in the “walking tour” will be Victor (Eric Braeden), Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Jack (Peter Bergman), Nick (Joshua Morrow), Ashley (Eileen Davidson), and Neil’s nephew Nate (Sean Dominic).
St. John passed away at the age of 52 on February 3, 2019. The actor joined the cast of YR in 1991 after his previous soap, Generations, on which he played Adam Marshall, came to an end. Cast as rising Jabot executive Neil Winters, St. John was soon paired with Victoria Rowell’s Drucilla and their chemistry exploded.
St. John won two Daytime Emmys for playing Neil throughout the course of his career. His first came in 1992 in the category of Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series. He won the same year that YR’s Tricia Cast (Nina) won for Outstanding Younger Actress. The two had starred as child actors on the short-lived primetime series The Bad News Bear, based on the feature film. St. John’s next win came in 2008 in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor.
After Neil and Dru were married, the couple dealt with a variety of issues, including Neil wanting a second child and Dru secretly being on birth control pills. Dru also was harboring a secret that even she didn’t know for sure what the answer was — that Neil’s brother Malcolm (Shemar Moore) could be the father of Lily!
Years later, that story played out with Malcolm being revealed as Lily’s dad. Neil was devastated but still thought of Lily as his daughter. Don’t miss this special episode dedicated to both Kristoff St. John and Neil. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
