The Young and the Restless Is Missing Red Flags With Devon and Dominic

On The Young and the Restless, Tessa Porter and Devon Hamilton worry about Mariah Copeland’s attachment to Dominic. We understand why they’re worried. However, it’s a double-standard that nobody worries about Devon’s similar attachment issues with Abby’s baby.

The Young and the Restless Red Flags

Sure Mariah (Camryn Grimes) carried Dominic for nine months and gave birth to him. She went through a terrible kidnapping and came out of it just in time to have the baby. So it’s understandable for everybody to worry about her attachment to the baby.

However, when Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) asked Devon (Bryton James) about how things were with Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway), he said some things that should raise some alarm bells too.

Devon noted that he missed out on raising his baby with Hilary (Mishael Morgan). The way he looks at the baby should also present a few red flags. Just because he’s not a woman doesn’t mean that Devon isn’t having attachment issues with baby Dominic.

Danger Devon Hamilton

While Devon is Dominic’s biological father, he’s still supposedly just the sperm donor. It does seem he has a place in the baby’s life the same way Abby hopes to include Mariah. However, we can’t help but notice how much Devon continues to assert himself into the baby’s life at the Chancellor mansion. Sure, he’s not necessarily saying some of the things Mariah says, but he seems in danger of developing too close an attachment.

Devon isn’t supposed to be Dominic’s father, but it looks like he may step in to fill that role. However, Devon’s presence could pose serious issues if Abby is right and Chance comes back to Genoa City. Although Devon usually stays fairly level-headed, we can see trouble brewing on the horizon. Will anyone else?
