The Young and the Restless Finds Its New Chance In Conner Floyd

The reports of Chance’s death on The Young and the Restless have been greatly exaggerated. The CBS soap has hired a new actor, Conner Floyd, to play the part of Abby’s presumed-dead husband.

Conner Floyd Joins The Young and the Restless

Floyd is taking over the part of Chance, last portrayed by Donny Boaz. The character left town at the end of last year to go on a secret mission for the government. He was recently reported missing in action, believed to have perished. Abby (Melissa Ordway) has been unsure of her husband’s death and now, it appears she’ll be proven right when Floyd shows up onscreen. At press time, an exact air date was not available.

Conner Floyd’s a daytime newcomer, however, he has a slew of credits to his name including the projects If Walls Could Talk, Brunch So Hard, Mixed Nuts, Mara the Millennial, A Kiss on Candy Cane Lane, and LA Cougars.

Chance Chancellor’s Backstory

Chance was born in 1988 to parents Phillip Chancellor III (Thom Bierdz) and Nina Webster (Tricia Cast). The following year, Phillip and Nina wed, only Phillip died in a car accident after driving drunk. Nearly 20 years later, Phillip turned up alive; he informed his loved ones including Nina and his mother Jill (Jess Walton), that he had faked his death so that he could move to Australia and live his life there as a gay man.

In addition to Boaz, several actors have played the part of Chance (when he was known as “Little Phillip” or “Phillip”) including Kenny and Chuckie Gravino, and Alex D. Linz. The last actor to play Phillip as a teen was Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl). He returned years later all grown up and was portrayed by John Driscoll (ex-Coop, Guiding Light). Boaz stepped into the role of Phillip IV AKA Chance in 2019. During his tenure, Ordway’s real-life husband Justin Gaston (ex-Ben Weston, Days of our Lives) briefly stepped in as Chance. Now, Conner Floyd will give his take on the important role.

What’s Next

Since Chance has been gone, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) has given birth to Abby and Chance’s son, Dominic, with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) acting as the donor. Currently, everyone’s concerned about Abby and how she’s handling being a “widow.” No word on when Conner Floyd will make his debut but viewers can expect to see him pop up onscreen later this month!
