Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.
The week of November 25, 2019
Rumors about Zach Tinker heading back to the soap as Fenmore Baldwin, Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Michael’s (Christian LeBlanc) son, have been confirmed. A post on The Young and the Restless’ official Twitter feed noted that the actor will be back on the canvas during the holiday season. However, there’s no official first airdate at this time.
Eileen Davidson is back as Ashley Abbott on Monday, November 25. Look for her character to return to Genoa City to share Thanksgiving dinner with her family.
Jeffrey Vincent Parise’s short-term story arc as Simon Black has wrapped up. The actor made his final appearance on November 19.
Please note that due to coverage of the impeachment hearings, air dates may be subject to change.
YR made its debut in 1973 and introduced more forward-moving storylines, along with complex characters. Needless to say, daytime soap opera quickly gained a new generation of fans and outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more. Similar to many CBS shows, the daytime sudser is taped in southern California and continues to be a tourist sight for soap opera fans visiting the area.
From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations to Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) heroism to the adorable love story of Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Calle), YR knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.
The Young and the Restless is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), Days of Our Lives (DAYS), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB).
