Y&R spoilers are suggesting that the animosity between their mothers might succeed in breaking up Kyle Abbott and Summer Newman in a way that her blackmailing him, him marrying someone else, and Summer dumping Kyle right before the wedding could never do. But what if that’s not where this story is going at all? What if it’s, in fact, the exact opposite?
Y&R Spoilers: Bonding Moments
What if, instead of Summer (Allison Lanier) buying Phyllis Summers’s (Michelle Stafford) claims that she’s ready to extend an olive branch to Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), Summer grows closer to her new mother-in-law, instead?
They have plenty in common. For one thing, they both love Kyle (Michael Mealor). We have no doubt those two can spend hours just discussing all the wonderful things about the man Diane birthed and Summer wed. (Better them than us.)
Young and the Restless: Professional Courtesy
For another, now that Kyle is the CEO of the company Summer sweet-talked Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) into buying for her, he is bound to pick up on all those subtle hints that Diane has been dropping like sledge hammers about how it sure would be nice for her to get a marketing job. Summer and Diane working side by side is another opportunity for family bonding.
Y&R Spoilers: First Off
But, most importantly, there’s little Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez). Ignoring the tot’s biological mother who, as far as we know, won’t be in prison forever, Summer has taken to calling Harrison “our son.” Meanwhile, Diane has dubbed herself “Harrison’s DiDi.” They both are very possessive of the boy.
When Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) inevitably comes back for the child he — and the law consider his, Summer and Diane will band together to hold onto their property, leaving Phyllis in the dust. Just one big happy family. Phyllis isn’t related to Harrison. So Phyllis no longer matters.
