Y&R spoilers tease a Victor who believes he is in absolute control. He knows what he is doing: faking dementia. He knows what he intends to accomplish, how he intends to accomplish it, and why it will be yet another triumph in his Newman cap. But there is one problem he hasn’t anticipated.

We don’t blame Victor (Eric Braeden) for faking yet another illness. Whenever he has done it in the past — including that time he pretended to be actually dead — his kids have come running to his side. All past sins are instantly forgiven. Sick Daddy is Saint Daddy, and we’re here to worship as necessary.

Except there are just so many times Victor can go to that well. His kids are going to get wise to him sooner or later. Adam (Mark Grossman) already doesn’t think so highly of his father. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is in a snit about being demoted. And Nick (Joshua Morrow) is just pissed off about everything. This latest act will feel awfully familiar, and they’re due for a rude awakening.

Y&R Spoilers: Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go

It’s about time for all of Victor’s children to accept that Victor has manipulated them since the day they were born. And they are done with it. Victor thinks he can trick his children into loving him again or admitting that they don’t love him as much as he thinks he deserves. Either way, they’ll all fall in line.

Victor’s plan from the moment his kids were old enough to fight for Daddy’s love — er, the CEO of Newman Enterprises — has been to divide and conquer. As long as they resent each other more than they resent him, Victor is in the cat-bird seat. But did it ever cross his mind that he might anger them so much this time that they’ll join forces like he’s always wanted — only it will be against him (they’ve done that before, too, right)?
