Y&R spoilers tease that Adam Newman has decided to go down the martyr route. When Victoria Newman made it clear that she’d be firing her brother’s girlfriend now that he had decided to leave Newman Media, Adam insisted that he and Sally Spectra had broken up.

Since Victoria (Amelia Heinle) didn’t have an immediate candidate in mind, Victoria decided to keep Sally (Courtney Hope) around. So now Adam (Mark Grossman) has to make his lie the truth and break up with Sally.

But does Sally strike anyone as the shy and retiring type who is willing to simply back down when a man tells her they’re done? (Those of you who watched her on The Bold and the Beautiful know the answer to that; and those who didn’t, take our word for it…she’s not.) We can easily imagine Sally telling Adam, “Uh, no, sorry, buster, you’re stuck with me. I’m not going anywhere.”

And Adam, who is obviously head over heels and only doing this because he suddenly got an attack of romantic-hero-itis, won’t be able to resist her for long.

So now that Sally has explained to Adam that they’re not breaking up, you big dummy, it’s time to come up with an alternative plan.

Publicly, Adam and Sally will stick to their “we’re so over” cover story. But, privately…well, what’s hotter than an illicit affair? Secret meetings, smoldering looks, hot reunions on borrowed time. This is going to bring their relationship to a whole new level!
