Y&R spoilers told fans that there is something wrong with Dominic Chancellor’s blood. Uh-oh. Sure, sure, we’re worried about the baby’s health. We’re not monsters. And with the symptoms, they’ve described — and this being a soap — the kid either has leukemia, aplastic anemia, or, since the show will believe they’re being topical, sickle-cell anemia. And that’s rough.

Y&R Spoilers Speculation

But what it actually means is that the tot is going to need a bone marrow transplant. And we know what bone marrow transplants mean on soaps — there’s a surprise relative reveal a-coming!

Young and the Restless: The Obvious

Speculation is running rampant that the medical test Dom is about to receive will reveal that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) isn’t his biological father, after all. Maybe Stitch Rayburn messed with the donation. Or maybe it was just a screw-up at the lab.

Y&R Spoilers: Less Obvious

But what if Devon is still the father…but Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) is actually the biological mother? Sure, Mariah was only supposed to be the gestational surrogate, and the egg they used to conceive Dominic was supposed to be Abby Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway).

But mistakes happen! (We’re not sure how the clinic would have accidentally gotten their hands on one of Mariah’s eggs, or how Devon’s sperm would have escaped the fertilized embryo to impregnate Mariah instead…but science is not these writers’ strong point).

Y&R: Repercussions

The immediate repercussions of such a screw-up would, of course, be felt by Abby and Chance (Conner Floyd). But what about Mariah and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks)? They are all excited to have a baby of their own. One that would belong to both of them. How would that dynamic change if they did get a baby…but he was all Mariah’s…whom she had to share with the biological father? How will this affect their happily ever after? Think this could happen? Let us know in the comments section.
