Y&R Spoilers Speculation: Diane Will Break Up Kyle and Summer

Y&R spoilers showed Summer Newman Abbott lamenting that Diane Jenkins was damaging her marriage to Kyle Abbott. Is this something the young couple can overcome, or will it be more than either is willing to work through?

Nothing can break up “Skyle,” 7% of you feel confident. If they could overcome an unknown child — and his mother, a second dad, professional troubles, Kyle (Michael Mealor) falling in and out of love with someone else, and Summer (Allison Lanier) blackmailing him into marriage the first time, then dumping him at the altar the second, they can overcome anything!

Kyle will see through Diane (Susan Walters) sooner rather than later, an equally secure 38% are rushing to reassure. Sure, he’s falling for his mom’s act now, but that’s because he’s just so happy to have her back in his life.

Once that thrill wears off, he’ll see that everything Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) shrieked was true. And once Kyle switches his allegiance from Diane to Phyllis, his mother-in-law will graciously forgive him and allow her daughter to love Kyle again. You know how Phyllis feels about her children doing something she disapproves of.

But the above reassurances aren’t enough to convince the majority 55% of voters. You can already see all the damage Diane has done, the cracks she’s wedged into Summer and Kyle’s relationship. As long as Summer does what makes her husband, rather than her mother, happy, she will never find peace.

Kyle is only thinking of himself when he asks Summer to accept his mother, whereas Summer’s mother has always been a giver. Phyllis doesn’t care about herself. She only wants to protect those she loves. Until Summer accepts that, she won’t be happy. And if Kyle can’t understand that, then their marriage is already over.
