Y&R spoilers have shown us Chelsea is willing to sacrifice whatever she needs to in order to make Connor happy. Somehow, the other 10-year-olds at Connor’s school have found out about his mother’s mental breakdown and about his father’s conflict with Victor — although neither is public knowledge, and neither one is interesting enough to have even Wisconsin tabloids publish their exploits.
Nonetheless, Connor (Judah Mackey) did his usual sad-eyed whine and informed his parents that he’d picked out a new school for himself, and they’d best send him there, pronto. Isn’t it great that they’re rich and don’t even have to ask how much such a place would cost once he makes his demands? But should Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) leave her job and Billy to give in to Connor’s latest whim?
Connor made it clear he’s driving this boat now. He doesn’t care what his parents think. And he doesn’t need them. He’s found the school, and he’ll make his own living arrangements. Just pay the bills and don’t ask questions. If that’s the case, then Chelsea is perfectly justified in shipping him off to Anita and staying in Genoa City to do her own thing. It’s what Precious Connor wants.
Chelsea isn’t that kind of mom. Letting go is not in her wheelhouse. The only thing she can do is move in with Anita in order to support Connor. Who cares about her job? Who cares about Billy (Jason Thompson)? You know what happens when Connor starts to suspect he’s not the center of the universe.
At least in the beginning, Chelsea must stick by Connor’s side. But once he’s settled in — which always happens as soon as he gets what he wants — she can leave him to the professionals. And come back home. You know what happens when Billy starts to suspect he’s not the center of the universe. Chelsea has her hands full!
