After Y&R spoilers revealed that Jack Abbott was getting mysterious texts, viewers hoped it was the beginning of an enticing mystery. When the clues lead to Jack’s long-lost son, Keemo Volien, we really perked up. Finally! This is getting good!
Y&R Spoilers Speculation
And then came the sucker punch: Keemo is dead. Off-camera. Without ever having made peace with his father. We didn’t even know they were estranged!
Y&R: Death Not Be Proud
This all feels so pointless. What a waste of what could have been a great story. But, then again, what if all isn’t as it seems? This is a soap. No one is ever truly dead. Especially not when the alleged demise occurred off-screen. What if Keemo is just testing his father?
Y&R Spoilers: Means, Motive, Opportunity
What were the two in conflict over all these years, anyway? We’re supposed to think it stems from that women they competed over decades ago. But that’s so petty. Jack (Peter Bergman) doesn’t even remember her name anymore, and we doubt Keemo would either.
What if their disagreement was about something a bit more substantial? What if, after Keemo had his own family — Y&R spoilers point to a daughter named Allie — the last thing he wanted was for her to be raised like a spoiled, entitled Abbott? Keemo looked at the brats Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) — not to mention Jack’s one-time stepdaughter, Summer Newman Abbott (Hunter King) — were growing up to be and refused to let his child be corrupted in the same manner. Jack would have seen it as a rejection of himself. Keemo would have seen Jack’s values as a rejection of his mother, and the hardworking, honest woman she was and wanted her children to be.
Y&R: The Next Generation
So Keemo broke away from Jack. But, as Allie grew up — and found out she was an heir to a fortune — she also started acting in a way that Keemo found abhorrent. Allie swore she wouldn’t be ruined if she got to know her rich granddaddy. So Keemo set up a test for them both.
He faked his death and waited to see if Allie would go running to Jack. And how long it would take her to betray everything her father wanted for her as she wallowed in money, clothes, and jewels Jack couldn’t wait to buy her. Will Keemo be proven right? Think this speculation will come true? Let us know in the comments section below.
