Adam and Audra banter whenever they cross paths. And we all know what that means. But this isn’t about Adam and his nephew’s ex-girlfriend making a love connection. This is about Adam using a current Newman Media employee as his way back into the company…in order to eventually take it over.

We’re not saying Audra would be oblivious in such a scenario. She would figure out what Adam was doing before he so much as opened his mouth. And she’d be eager to hear it. She realizes that her own position is tenuous. Audra knows that any Newman could fire her at any moment. So why not make some backup plans? With an angry Newman.

Adam sees Audra as a way to spy on Newman Media. Audra sees Adam as a way to make sure she still has a job once Adam has done whatever Adam is planning on doing. They’re going to think this is a purely business arrangement. And it will be. There will be business. And there will be snark. It will start with a handshake. But then they’ll need a cover story so the Newmans don’t realize what they’re really up to. They’ll have to fake an affair. How long, as Michael Jackson sang, before a lie becomes the truth?
