Y&R spoilers seem to hint that Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor and Chance Chancellor may be heading for a split. First, there was his difficulty bonding with baby Dominic, to the point where he was chill with giving Devon Hamilton joint custody of the baby Chance claimed he desperately wanted.
And now, Chance (Conner Floyd) is accusing Abby (Melissa Ordway) of resenting his return to law enforcement and the limit that puts on their family time. Oh, and he’s not thrilled about how Abby makes him put her family’s — OK, Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) — interests ahead of truth, justice, and the American way. He’s right about that. But it only makes their inevitable breakup even more…inevitable.
Do you know what else is feeling inevitable right around now? Abby hooking up with Devon (Bryton James). They’ve always been friends. And now that they share a child, well, what’s stopping them from being a family? Yeah, we know Devon has a girlfriend.
A live-in girlfriend. Who has been really cool about Dominic all but moving in. But Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) is currently out of town. So, you know, you can’t expect Devon to just watch Netflix and argue with his cousin. Abby and Devon feel like a done deal at this point. It’s smooth sailing for them moving forward….right?
Remember when Dominic needed a bone marrow transplant, and Devon was the perfect match? Everyone rejoiced! But, even back then, we pointed out it was very rare for a biological parent to be a 100% match to their own child. Something like 50% was much more likely. We figured, at the time, that this was a clue that something went wrong and Devon wasn’t the daddy. That story was dropped. But wouldn’t it be a great time to pick it up again?
Just as Abby and Devon are wallowing in the bliss of being with “their” son, the truth comes out. Devon’s sample wasn’t the one used. It was the one Chance submitted. The one where he learned he was sterile. Hey, stranger things have happened. And now, we’ve finally got a real triangle! Think this spoiler speculation could really happen?
