The Y&R spoilers haven’t been a big help in figuring out why Phyllis Summers has absolutely lost her mind over Summer Newman leaving town this time – as opposed to all the other times she’s left town.
Y&R Spoilers Spec
Y&R spoilers aren’t going to tell us. So almost 4,000 of us came up with our own conclusions. Do you think any of these reasons could be the real reason? Read on to find out:
Same Old, Same Old
It wasn’t even close, as 85% of the audience isn’t seeing anything different this time around. Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) has always been wacky-coo-coo. The only change has been whom she’s obsessing over that week. It started with Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian), then decided his ex-wife, Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) – and her new fiance, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) – were somehow responsible for Danny not wanting to be with the woman who tricked him into marriage – over a kid who wasn’t even his.
When Phyllis feels threatened, she strikes out not necessarily at the right person, but the one easiest to topple. This time she’s decided it’s Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). So, yeah, let’s pile it on them.
Y&R Spoilers: Mama Bear
Phyllis is the kind of helicopter mom who brings out the military model to shoot all the other helicopter parents out of the sky, 12% of you note. If her precious baby Summer (Hunter King) has the sads, Y&R spoilers tease Phyllis will destroy anyone who she believes is responsible – even if Summer is the one at fault.
Get On Bored
Now that Phyllis has Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) back, she’s bored, 2% of the audience has been here before. Phyllis loves the battle. Peacetime is so dull in her book that she’s willing to start another war just to have something to do.
Y&R Spoilers Spec — It’s a Tumor
It’s got to be a brain tumor a desperate 1% claim. It couldn’t possibly be that Phyllis saw Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) looking at a sassy, scheming redhead – basically, a younger version of Phyllis – and suddenly felt threatened that the guy who she cheated on (with his brother, no less) had found a new and better model.
