Young and the Restless: Trouble

Billy and Lily met up at Society, but he was worried about Chelsea, which annoyed Lily. He called Chelsea despite Lily’s frustration, and Chelsea didn’t answer, instead remembering how Lily had urged her not to rely on Billy.

Billy called again, and instead of picking up his call, a despondent Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) walked in. Connor had gotten into a fight at school with a kid who called his mom crazy.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon warned Adam not to make Chelsea’s struggle a fight between him and Billy. Adam didn’t want to let Billy play the hero, though. Sharon let Adam have it over his statement. Adam admitted that his focus was on Connor too, and Sharon agreed that he and Chelsea should help him.

Sharon urged Adam to stop what he was doing and not make the whole thing about himself, and Adam denied that he was. He accused Billy of blurring lines, but Sharon didn’t see it. Adam worried that Billy made Chelsea’s situation with Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) worse, but Sharon didn’t think he was. Ultimately, Adam went upstairs to see Chelsea.

Connor told Chelsea that a kid overheard him and Johnny talking in private about everything, and the kid was mean, so Connor tried to make him stop. Chelsea explained to Connor that he never had to defend her. She expressed that she didn’t feel ashamed of what she was dealing with. Chelsea also told her surprised son that everybody has stuff they were going through. She told Connor to talk to her, his dad, or his counselor at school if he was feeling bad.

Adam knocked on the door, and Chelsea let him in. She let Adam know that they need to have a family talk. After it, Adam wanted to pull Connor out of school or get the other kid expelled. Chelsea told Adam those weren’t their only options, and they argued about how to handle it.

Chelsea suggested that they give Connor the tools he needed to deal with these things without his fists. She said that they had to be better. She also told Adam that they had to show Connor how to handle things, and he agreed with her.

Y&R Recap: Catching Up

Lily walked up on Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier), Phyllis, and Daniel, enjoying lunch together. He told them that he planned to stick around Genoa City for a while. Phyllis asked Lily to join them, and she promptly asked how her hotel was doing. Lily kept things light when Phyllis brought up what happened with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and subsequently Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Summer and Phyllis warned Daniel to stay away from Sally.

Lily wasn’t thrilled when Phyllis mentioned she knew that Billy was leaving the company, but she gave her former mother-in-law a good PR answer. Billy walked up, and they invited him to join them. Phyllis asked Billy about leaving Chancellor-Winters, and he brushed it off. Lily told everybody that Daniel had pitched them a new project, and Billy wanted to know about it. Phyllis pointed out he wouldn’t be privy to the details since he left the company.

Phyllis credited herself for Daniel’s entrepreneurship skills. Billy wanted to know if Daniel was still painting, and he said not as much. Summer wanted the details of her brother’s project, but Lily said the details had to stay under wraps. Everybody but Billy and Daniel left, and the latter said Billy hadn’t changed a bit, which Billy took exception to. Daniel said that Billy’s decision to leave Chancellor-Winters abruptly is just what Billy does. He also let Billy know that Lily wasn’t thrilled, and Billy told him it was none of his business.

Daniel also expressed his surprise that Lily and Billy were together, especially after everything that happened with Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard). He thought Lily would choose somebody more dependable. She walked up, wondering what she missed.

Y&R Recap: Danger

At the Abbott mansion, Nikki updated Ashley on Talia Morgan (Natalie Morales) declining to continue looking into Diane. Nikki expressed her frustration, and then Ashely dropped the bombshell that Jack wasn’t their ally anymore. Both women were appalled that Jack was so far gone with Diane. Nikki wondered if Ashley would walk away, but Ashley wasn’t about to. Ashley couldn’t imagine that Jack would fall for Diane again, and Nikki agreed.

Although Ashley wanted to continue with their plans, she said they should keep a lower profile. Nikki relayed Phyllis’s plan to involve Jeremy Stark (James Hyde), but Ashley urged caution. Nikki didn’t quite buy that Diane was telling the truth about Jeremy, though, and Ashley agreed that the woman would lie to get what she wants. Nikki thought Diane might be using the Abbott family to get what she wanted.

Nikki reminded Ashley that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Jack would protect their families. Ashley said that didn’t feel right, though, considering it was their plan. Nikki accused Ashley of trying to back out. Ashley denied it, but she wanted to think through the whole thing — what if something happened to Diane? The doorbell rang, and a proud Phyllis walked in with the shocking news that she’d let Stark in on what Diane had done, shocking both Ashley and Nikki.

At Jabot, Diane was touched that Jack had stood up to Ashley for her, and Kyle walked in, wondering what he had interrupted. Diane explained the disturbing situation she and Jack were talking about. She wanted to talk to Kyle, and she explained all about Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) and their deal. Kyle wasn’t at all happy to hear Tucker wanted to take over Jabot.

Jack chimed in, and they expressed how worried they were over Jeremy Stark. Diane let Kyle know just how dangerous Jeremy Stark is. She claimed Nikki, Ashley, and Phyllis were playing with fire and putting them in an extremely dangerous situation. Diane warned that their money and social status wouldn’t let the women control what happened. Jeremy is a monster, and Diane was so afraid for him to know she betrayed him. Diane reminded Kyle that her loved ones were at risk too.

Kyle reacted angrily, and Jack calmed him down, reminding his son that he’d protect the family. Diane expressed how happy she was with Kyle and Jack standing by her. Kyle suggested that they come up with a plan to keep the women from contacting Stark. Kyle left, promising Diane they would handle things. Diane asked Jack to lunch and instead, he suggested they have dinner together.

In the hall, Summer walked out of the elevator, and Kyle grabbed her to tell her what Phyllis was doing with Jeremy Stark. Summer denied it, and Kyle let her know that Diane did help put Stark away, and she was frustrated at being left out of the loop.
