The Young and the Restless spoilers for Thursday, June 4, 2020 preview the fall out from John Abbot’s death, as his children grieve… and his widow and her children scramble to get what they believe is rightfully theirs. The episode originally aired on August 24, 2006.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers Highlights
John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) is dead. Really dead, not merely soap opera dead. Sure, we’ll see him again periodically in ghost form, but there will be no returns from a backward Genoa City island or a cure that includes microchips in the brain.
And his children are heartbroken. Really heartbroken. Jack (Peter Bergman) basically lived to please his father, and now his reason for living is gone. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) knew she always had one man in her corner, no matter what. She’s only glad John died before finding out he isn’t, in fact, her biological father.
The Sad Abbott Children
Traci (Beth Maitland) came running to Daddy whenever some man – or sibling – did her wrong, so he could tell her she was perfect and never to blame for any of the bad choices she’s made in her life. And Billy (David Tom)… Billy enjoyed screwing up then blaming others for his actions, which John would periodically tell him to quit. They’ll all miss him in their own way.
Fisher Or Cut Bait
Meanwhile, there’s Gloria (Judith Chapman), the social climber to end all social climbers. She married John despite not being legally divorced from Terrible Tom (Roscoe Born), and she is determined to remain The Widow Abbott, no matter what.
Her sons, Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc) and Kevin (Greg Rikaart) may not always like her – but they do like their connection to the Abbotts. And they’re right there to help Mama hold onto what she believes is rightfully hers.
We’ll see what Jack, Ashley, Traci, and Billy will have to say about that! The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
