We’ve seen Neil (Kristoff St. John) and Dru’s (Victoria Rowell) first meeting. We’ve seen their wedding and their Hawaiian honeymoon. Now it’s time to welcome them back to Genoa City and to celebrate their happy union with their families. This is certainly a pair that will never have problems, paternity questions, affairs, stalkers, or petty fights about who gets to have a career and who doesn’t? Let’s all drink to that!

On Tuesday, we watched Jack (then-Terry Lester) tell Cricket (Lauralee Bell) how amazing she is and how Jabot would be nothing without her. Soon after, she would become the romantic obsession of young Phillip Chancellor… even though – decades later – he would defend faking his own death and devastating his mother and other loved ones by claiming he was gay and afraid they’d reject him. (THAT’S how amazing the power of Cricket was!). She would also attract rock star Danny (Michael Damian), who had older, more-experienced girls throwing themselves at him on a regular basis.

With both Phillip and Danny gone, Cricket bewitched Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc). Except he wasn’t wholesome like Phillip and Danny. He went too far and sexually harrassed Cricket.

So she got him fired from the law firm where they both worked. Because Michael wasn’t wholesome, he plotted revenge. (Yes, this is the funny and loving Michael we know today, married to Lauren, father of Fen, best pal to Phyllis. People change.)

Michael’s revenge is about to get very dark, so, Cricket, beware! This is the power of obsession taken too far. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
