The Young and the Restless spoilers for Monday, December 16, 2019, reveal the start of a new week with some new takes on life.
Billy resists temptation, Amanda briefly opens up, Devon promises to be better, and Summer encourages Kyle and Lola. Everyone’s lives are turning upside down.
After Billy (Jason Thompson) laments — yet again – about feeling like a screwup, Amanda (Mishael Morgan) admits she’s an orphan and has trouble with the professional side of life, as well.
Though that isn’t at all what Billy is talking about. She leaves and Billy is tempted by a poker game. Later, he has a romantic surprise for Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and she thinks everything is fine and dandy in their lives.
Devon (Bryton James) admits Elena (Brytni Sarpy) was right about his obsession with Amanda and promises to do better. They decide they are happy again. Well, that lasted minutes!

Summer (Hunter King) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) are working late on… work things. Summer grabs Kyle’s phone and video calls Lola (Sasha Calle) to tell her husband to go home.
Lola admits she’s swamped as well and shows Kyle a view of her crowded dining room. Where Kyle sees Theo (Tyler Johnson) and instantly gets his frowny Kyle Hates Theo face on. (Which is funny, since Theo was just telling Lola he is designing some new emojis for Jabot — maybe he can make Kyle one?)
Kyle gets angry. Summer talks him down. And this all begs the question: Are the writers making Summer nicer so that when Kyle inevitably sleeps with her, Lola will be the bad guy for not… stabbing Theo with her kitchen knife?
