The Young and the Restless spoilers for Thursday, July 9, reach the end of Jill’s tolerance as she really needs Billy to get over himself — and his childish issues with her. Plus, Kyle takes a big risk to save Jack and Diane.
Key Takeaways
- Jill tells Billy to drop it.
- Lily is impressed with Cane.
- Kyle decides to play hero for his parents.
Jill Pushes Billy to Stop Living in the Past
Every time Billy (Jason Thompson) sees his mother, he breaks into yet another song and dance about how Jill (temporarily Lauren Koslow) didn’t believe enough in him, and she took away the company he wanted to run (stomps footie!)! Why won’t she let Billy be the nepo baby he deserves to be?
Jill put up with him. For a while. But there is just so much anyone can stand. Jill has listened. Jill has heard. And now Jill needs Billy to zip it. Forgive her or not. But shut up about it, either way.
Lily Sees a New Side of Cane
Jill was surprised to hear from Sally (Courtney Hope) that Cane (Billy Flynn) offered Billy a job at Chancellor.
Lily (Christel Khalil), however, is impressed with her ex. Kissing impressed. Cane wants Lily and their kids back. And if he has to use Billy, make it happen, well, Billy is a major tool. So why not?
Kyle Takes a Risk to Protect Jack and Diane
Michael (Christian Le Blanc) explained to Diane (Susan Walters) that the police let Patty (Stacy Haiduk) go, and believed her story about Diane stabbing Jack. Dr. Markham (Jere Burns) backed up her story.
So they’re not going to take into account that Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Diane found a stabbed Jack (Peter Bergman) together and were together every minute before that? They’re not going to ask to see Diane’s commitment papers, the ones that gave Markham permission to treat her? They’re not going to investigate if Washburn is a licensed therapist (which, if our suspicion that he is Martin Laurant [Christopher Cousins] cannot possibly be true?).
Cool, cool, cool. That is all such low-hanging fruit that even Kyle, who has decided to play hero, should be able to find.
