Soap Opera Veteran Melinda O. Fee Has Passed Away at The Age of 77

Actress Melinda O. Fee, whose soap credits include The Young and the Restless, Days of our Lives, and Santa Barbara, has, according to sources, passed away. The actress was 77 years old.

“It is with great sadness I tell you, her Facebook friends, that on March 24th [2020], Melinda passed away,” wrote Gilleigh McLain on Fee’s Facebook page. “She had a massive stroke and passed away in the hospital. She had requested no funeral nor memorial, so don’t grieve you missed it. May God hold Melinda, forever, in the hollow of his hand.”

Born October 7, 1942 in Los Angeles, Fee began her TV acting career in the 1960s on such primetime shows as My Favorite Martian, Lost In Space, and Mannix. In the early 1970s, she started appearing on daytime dramas. Her first soap role was as Victoria Randolph on Love of Life. Next came Guiding Light, on which she played Charlotte Waring Bauer.

The actress then moved to the west coast where she amassed a series of primetime credits. Fee appeared as Cathy Baker, a nurse to Miss Ellie’s (Barbara Bel Geddes) dying brother Garrison Southworth (Gene Evans) on the primetime soap Dallas.

Fee achieved pop-culture status when she appeared on The Bionic Woman as Tami Cross, a Las Vegas showgirl, who was the template for a Fembot, one of Jamie’s Sommers’ (Lindsay Wagner) most challenging adversaries!

The actress returned to soaps in 1981 when she was cast as Mary Anderson Marshall on Days of our Lives. She became one of the victims of Jake Kositchek (Jack Coleman) AKA the Salem Strangler. Next, Fee was cast short-term in the role of Jill Foster Abbott. She then relocated to the soap Santa Barbara as the character of Olivia.

Fee had three acting credits in 1991 including a role on Beverly Hills 90210. After then, it appears she left acting. In 1985, Fee wed Steve S. Harrison. Soap Hub sends sincere condolences to Melinda O. Fee’s family, friends, and fans at this difficult time.
