1. Denture Disaster
John (Drake Hogestyn) had no clue he was marrying Susan (Eileen Davidson) and not Kristen on Days of Our Lives in 1997 until their Elvis-themed wedding went haywire when Laura confronted the lookalike bride about the missing Marlena. During their struggle, Laura knocked Susan’s false teeth out and they flew into Vivian’s cocktail, exposing the ruse.
2. What Happens in Vegas
General Hospital’s Luke (Anthony Geary) and Tracy (Jane Elliot) got hitched in Vegas in 2005. Viewers got to see the rip-roaring ceremony in flashbacks, as the pair, dressed in cowboy attire, guzzled champagne and slurred their vows. After being pronounced man and wife, they kissed and fell to the floor.
3. Gorilla and the Groom
Another World pulled off a wild series finale in 1999, when a love-struck gorilla named Carolyn kidnapped Cass (Stephen Schnetzer) before his nuptials to Lila (Lisa Peluso). The guests screamed and ran for cover, while Felicia (Linda Dano) phoned an animal specialist for help. Fortunately, Cass was found, the gorilla was taken back to the zoo, and the couple exchanged “I Do’s.”
4. Ride ‘em Cowgirl
Determined to stop Ridge (Ronn Moss) from marrying Taylor (Hunter Tylo) in 2009, a disheveled Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) rode into the ceremony on horseback on The Bold and the Beautiful. The stunned priest gasped as Brooke announced, “Hold it right there, padre. There isn’t going to be a wedding today.” And there wasn’t, as Ridge soon realized he still loved Brooke.
5. Murder at the Altar
Dressed in an exact replica of the bride’s gown, Tricia (Sabryn Genet) interrupted Ryan (Scott Reeves) and Victoria’s (Heather Tom) wedding in 2001. After locking Victoria in a closet, she took her place at the altar, while holding a gun on Ryan. Sadly, poor Ryan ended up dead. When a freed Victoria reappeared, Tricia tried to shoot her, and he jumped in front of the bullet.
6. Lady in Red
In 1990, Alan (Stuart Damon) and Lucy (Lynn Herring) tied the knot among disgruntled family and friends. Tracy muttered that she hoped her brother had a stroke during the “til death do us part” chapter of the ceremony. But it was Lucy’s outrageous red gown and ginormous matching hat that stole the show. It kept knocking Alan in the head throughout the ceremony.
7. Crash and Burn
Passions’ mad mama Ivy (Kim Johnston Ulrich) drove her car into a church to stop Ethan (Eric Martsolf) and Theresa (Lindsey Hartley) from exchanging vows in 2000. And the explosive crash was set to the tune of Going To The Chapel Of Love. Once inside, Ivy destroyed the couple, producing “proof” that Theresa had sent information about Ethan’s true paternity to a tabloid.
8. Dog Day Afternoon
All My Children’s obsessed Janet left prison with a new face, after plastic surgery, and began wooing Trevor again as Jane Cox. Luckily, her true identity was exposed on their 1994 wedding day, thanks to Harold the dog. The smart pooch growled and attacked Jane, exposing her as the evil Janet, and the nuptials were nixed.
9. Wed Like an Egyptian
Alex’s (Tonja Walker) pursuit of billionaire Asa Buchanan (Phil Carey) on One Life to Live ended with her getting her man in 1994. The pair finally married in an over-the-top, Egyptian-style wedding filmed on location in Central Park. The bride arrived on a chariot and was dressed as Cleopatra.
10. Jack Deveraux & Jennifer Horton (Days of Our Lives)
It’s hard to forget Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer’s (Melissa Reeves) 1991 ceremony at Salem’s Wild West Arena. Filmed at Universal Studios Hollywood, it included some hilarious hijinks, like Jack catapulting into a well and temporarily losing his voice with hysterical laryngitis, but ended happily with “I Do’s.”
