Despite Sharon Rosales telling her that she has no idea how she’ll feel about it after the fact, Mariah Copeland insisted on going ahead and being Abby Chancellor’s surrogate on The Young and the Restless.

Now Mariah (Camryn Grimes) knows how she feels about it: She misses Baby Bowie and doesn’t know how to stop feeling like his mother. Mariah’s first step toward cutting the cord is to move out of Abby’s house. Her second is to tell girlfriend Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) that they should have a baby of their own. How do almost 2,000 viewers feel about her brainstorm?

No way, Mariah, 72% of you are shaking your heads vigorously. You are nowhere near ready to move on. You need to take the time to mourn, to heal, and to really think through what you’re suggesting. Besides, you just gave birth under some pretty traumatic circumstances. No doctor would advise you to get pregnant again. It would be too dangerous for both you and the baby!

Problem Solved on The Young and the Restless

Then again, 21% of voters think Mariah is onto something. You know how if your dog dies you should run out and get a new puppy? This is totally the same thing. Mariah misses Dominic? Have a baby and name him (or her) Bowie. Absolutely nothing could go wrong with this plan.

Time Commitment

Mariah has a stressful, full-time corporate job, and Tessa tours to promote her music. Is now really the right time to have a baby? No, it is not, 7% assert. Both women are young, devoted to their careers, and not ready to be stuck at home, changing diapers. Maybe in a couple of years, when they’re more settled – and sure that they’re in this relationship for the long haul. Maybe then. Just babysit for now.
