The Y&R spoilers recap for Monday, September 26, 2022, sees Victoria Newman and Billy Abbott upsetting their son, Johnny Abbott, by telling him the truth that Chelsea Lawson is his birth mother.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) were at Newman Enterprises, but Nick could tell he didn’t have his sister’s full attention. She admitted that she and Billy (Jason Thompson) had a personal situation to take care of with one of their children, and it couldn’t go wrong. She admitted that she and Billy planned to tell Johnny (Paxton Mishkind) that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is his biological mother. Nick remembered how Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) wanted to tell Christian Newman that he was his biological dad a few years back. Then he reassured his sister that she’s Johnny’s mom.

Billy and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) met up, and he let her know that they planned to tell Johnny the truth, which thrilled Chelsea. Then, Billy and Victoria met at Chancellor Park with Johnny. When he went off to play soccer, they talked about their feelings about Johnny. Billy noted that he had a lot of regrets, but Johnny being their son, wasn’t one of them. Then Victoria wondered where the time went.
They finally called Johnny over, and Victoria asked Johnny if he’d ever wondered about his birth mother, but Johnny said no. Even so, they told him he knew the woman who gave birth to him — Chelsea. He wasn’t at all happy to learn that, and he wondered why they told him when he didn’t want to know. Johnny was also super upset that everybody knew his birth mother lived in town and he hadn’t known.
The Young and the Restless Recap: Family Business
Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) met at Chancellor-Winters, and she double-checked that her brother was still willing to take the company public. Devon said he was, so they got on a video call with Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton). Devon gave Jill the news that they were ready to take Chancellor-Winters public, and she was thrilled. She wanted to know where Billy was though, and Lily said everybody was fine, but he had to handle a family matter.
After the call, Devon asked Lily if Billy was really committed to everything. Devon pushed his sister more on what was going on with Billy. She admitted that she worried that Billy was only doing the job to support her instead of actually loving the job.
Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) met with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) over a meal at Society. She wanted the lowdown on everybody at Chancellor-Winters, and he was happy to oblige. Nate even managed to say reasonably nice things about Devon. They went to Chancellor-Winters, and Lily and Devon were impressed, so she got hired to help them through the Initial Public Offering. Devon made a comment about Nate meeting her early, which of course, Nate took exception to.
After everybody else left, Devon continued pushing Lily to tell him what was really going on with Billy. However, she said it wasn’t her news to tell. Elsewhere, Nate placed a call to Victoria, updating her on the latest with Chancellor-Winters, and wanted to know when and where they could meet.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: Business And Pleasure
At Crimson Lights, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) made plans for pitching Victoria something new. Then Adam came in, and he and Sally had a civil conversation, which caused Chloe to cry foul. However, they both explained that they were committed to moving forward as adults, and Adam was giving Sally the space she needed to concentrate on other things. Chloe seemed impressed, but Sally said she wasn’t entirely over Adam. However, she admitted to getting better every day, and Chloe approved.

Back at Newman Media, Sally said she had a meeting with Nick, and Chloe noted that Sally and Nick had met a lot recently. Then, Nick himself showed up, and Chloe remained clueless that her boss and Nick had hooked up. She made herself scarce, and Nick asked Sally to discuss work over dinner, and she promised to after a meeting she didn’t want to miss.
As Nick left Sally’s office, Chelsea walked by, looking for Victoria. He told Chelsea he knew all about what Billy and Victoria were telling Johnny. They talked about what a good mom Victoria was and how it would be a big change for Johnny. Finally, Billy texted Chelsea that they’d told Johnny she was his birth mom, and Chelsea seemed thrilled.
Victoria showed up, and Nick asked her how it went. Victoria admitted that it went worse than she’d expected. She just came to grab some things from work and left to go spend more time with Johnny. Nick gave Victoria words of wisdom about kids and how much Johnny was loved. Then he got a text from Sally, and Victoria wondered who it was.
Unfortunately for Chelsea, she and Billy met on the patio at Crimson Lights, and she was all upbeat and excited to move forward with Johnny. Billy told Chelsea it didn’t go well and that he and Victoria weren’t going to pressure him to do anything he doesn’t want to do. Then Billy called Chelsea out on pushing so hard to be a bigger part of Johnny’s life, and he said it should be about Johnny and what he wanted and needed. Chelsea agreed, but she also left in tears.
Adam came across Chelsea at Chancellor Park. He asked how she was doing, and she said she was fine. They talked a bit about Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), and he asked her if they could do something together as a family — like the amusement park, Connor wanted to go to. She wondered if they could stay together for hours on end and get along, and Adam said, of course, they could. Adam suggested they go tell Connor now, and Chelsea went off on him. She said she was having a bad day. She yelled about only wanting to love and take care of her son, and it wasn’t clear which son she meant.

Coming up next on Y&R, you can expect to see Chelsea standing her ground with Victoria, which likely won’t go over too well with the Newman Media CEO. Telling Johnny about his birth mother was a disaster, and he said he didn’t want things to change. That will likely be difficult for Chelsea to accept, and it’s not surprising at all that Victoria would try to honor Johnny’s wishes. Sparks will surely fly between these two.
