The Y&R spoilers recap for Friday, September 24, 2022, brings a stunning moment for Chelsea Lawson when Victoria Newman makes an unexpected decision.

At Chancellor-Winters Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) wondered if Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) planned to set Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) up to fail. Devon denied it. Instead, he said he wanted to do what everybody had urged him to do and allow Nate to move forward with some of their plans.

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) contacted Billy, so he had to leave. Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Devon stayed behind and their discussion turned personal. Devon complained about how the back-and-forth issues with Nate caused him problems and pulled his focus away from Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). Then Lily turned their talk to going public, and Devon worried that it would harm the company that he and Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) worked so hard to build. She pointed out that they would retain 51% of the shares, which is the only way Devon would agree to it because he wanted to maintain control. He reluctantly agreed with his sister to take the company public.
At their penthouse, Nate updated Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) on his plans. He let his girlfriend know that he planned to go back to work at Chancellor-Winters after a healing conversation with his family, which she thought seemed like a 180. Then, Nate revealed he intended to move forward with his scheme with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). However, Nate tried to spin it as a positive thing that would reunite his family, which Elena found hard to believe. Nate said that his leadership would be so amazing that it’d bring their family together through collaboration. He planned to be the opposite of Devon.
Nate told Elena how much he needed her support in his plan and her love. However, she did not agree with his plans. She started to talk to him, but he stopped her after she said she was his partner and supported him. That was all he needed to hear. Later, she had trouble sleeping, and she and Nate got into an argument. He accused Elena of being just like Devon, and he left to get some fresh air. Nate ended up at Crimson Lights, where he ran into Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), who knew his name and introduced herself as the consultant Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton) hired to take Chancellor-Winters public. Nate expressed that he thought it wasn’t a done deal yet, and Audra admitted it wasn’t. However, she said she hoped it would be by tomorrow.
At the ranch, Victoria and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) talked business at Newman Enterprises. She mentioned Nate’s scheme, and she explained that she wanted to purchase a majority stake of Chancellor-Winters when it went public. Victor declared Nate’s game a risky one, and he pointed out that it could be insider trading, which is a legally fraught situation. Victoria wondered when they’d ever backed away from a risk, and Victor agreed — “let’s do it,” he said. Later, Victor sat by his chess set at the ranch, drinking scotch and looking very pleased with himself.
Young and the Restless: GLAM
At The Glam Club, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) freaked right out. Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) asked her dad to talk with Phyllis. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) went over to his ex-wife and asked her to please leave the whole situation alone for one evening. As for Diane, she ended up snarking about Phyllis, and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) pointed out that everyone should be on their best behavior.
Phyllis stood to make a toast, and Diane acted like she was about to do something crazy. Instead, Phyllis declared that she and Diane could certainly be in the same room together with no worries, forcing Diane to quickly agree. Then she toasted Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer, and she praised Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) for his club, noting that she wished she still owned The Grand Phoenix because it was so great. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) raised his glass to the happy couple, and everybody started dancing.
Later, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) gave what could only be described as a best woman speech. She complimented Kyle and even had a decent word to say about Summer. Mariah said she looked forward to raising their families aside each other, and everybody toasted the happy couple.
Kyle and Summer slow danced together, and she noted that it turned out to be a wonderful night despite the drama between their moms. Kyle agreed, saying they made the right choice in moving back to Genoa City. They agreed to go talk to their moms. Summer apologized to Phyllis about the botched arrival, and then Kyle told Phyllis and Diane that they could have one more last chance. Both women accepted and promised to do their best to work together without causing any drama.

Jack later asked Diane what she, Phyllis, Kyle, and Summer had discussed, and she instantly suspected that he had something to do with it. He praised her for taking responsibility for her actions and resigning. As she took photos of the party, Diane got a mysterious text message from a person claiming they were on their way to Genoa City, and she got very upset. Diane left the party, and an eagle-eyed Phyllis noticed, following her out.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: Mama Mia
Billy met with Chelsea at Society, and he tried to talk business, but she shut it down. She thanked Billy for letting her see Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) the other day. Then, she pushed the idea that they tell Johnny and Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) they are more than just cousins.
Billy told Chelsea it was a bad time, especially since Johnny just lost his stepfather. Chelsea wasn’t willing to take no for an answer, though. She pushed hard, pointing out that he’d soon have questions about his biological mother. Billy reluctantly admitted that Johnny had already asked, and he and Victoria merely avoided the questions.
Victoria showed up, and she sat down with Chelsea and Billy. She told them that she wasn’t happy they’d arranged a playdate with Connor and Johnny against her wishes. Billy denied doing anything unusual and sneaky, given that Johnny and Connor are cousins. Victoria didn’t believe Billy, and Chelsea apologized. Victoria told Chelsea it wasn’t a good time and she wasn’t going to allow it. Chelsea tearfully explained that she was worried about Johnny and how he’d feel if and when he found out, realizing everybody had kept the secret from him for all these years.
Victoria admitted that she had always been honest with Johnny about the fact that she wasn’t his biological mother. She also admitted that it had always been her intention to tell the little boy about Chelsea, but time had just flown so quickly. Victoria warned that if and when they told Johnny, it’d be his decision on how to handle whatever relationship he wanted to have with Chelsea and Connor. Chelsea agreed to accept whatever Johnny decided. Victoria pointed out that Chelsea would have to tell Connor, and she asked that Chelsea hold off on telling Connor until she and Billy told Johnny.
Coming Up Next On Y&R Spoilers: A Painful Decision
Next, you can expect to see Victoria and Billy make a painful decision that likely has to do with Chelsea pushing so hard to tell Johnny the truth that she’s his mother. Even though the timing isn’t great so soon after Ashland Locke’s (Robert Newman) death, it seems that Chelsea isn’t going to give up until Billy and Victoria comply with her wishes.
