The Y&R spoilers recap for Monday, September 19, 2022, brings a big moment for Kyle Abbott when he finally, at long last, proposes…again…to Summer Newman Abbott. But, when she finds out about the dress, will she say yes?

Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) looked at the ideas the wedding planner sent over, and she gave her nephew some wise advice — Summer (Allison Lanier) might want to be involved in the whole thing. After all, she never got to have a bachelorette party or all the rest.

Summer happened upon them and wondered what was up. Traci quickly made herself scarce, and Kyle re-proposed to his bride. He told her all the things he loved about her and then ultimately got down on one knee. Summer worried the housekeeper would think they were crazy, but he didn’t care.
Once she got over her surprise, Summer agreed to the wedding. Then, Kyle mentioned Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) went to Los Angeles to meet with the Forresters about a wedding dress. She pushed back a bit, saying they were a Marchetti family. However, Kyle said he had tried to surprise her, which is why he went with the other design house. Summer eventually agreed, and the two excitedly planned their Genoa City wedding.
Young and the Restless: Mother Trouble
Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) let Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) know that she told Kyle and Summer all about the document she suspected Phyllis planted on her computer, but of course, Phyllis denied it. No matter, Diane felt seen and heard by their children, so the whole thing was a win as far as she was concerned. She rubbed it all in Phyllis’s face, but her rival really didn’t take the bait.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) ran into Phyllis in the hallway at work, and he warned Phyllis not to cross any lines. She reassured him that she hadn’t and had no plans to, but Jack didn’t seem entirely convinced.
Then, Kyle and Summer showed up. Kyle went to talk to Jack while Summer told her mom she knew everything. Phyllis looked caught for a moment, but then Summer revealed that Kyle had re-proposed to her for their vow renewal. Phyllis quickly recovered and expressed her excitement. Of course, she bragged about being the mother of the bride, insinuating that she had more say in the planning than Diane, which didn’t quite sit well with Summer.
Meanwhile, in Jack’s office, Kyle told him about Diane’s accusations. It made a lot of sense to him, given his and Diane’s recent conversation. Jack advised Kyle to set boundaries with both Phyllis and Diane. They had to lay down the law completely without taking sides or playing any favorites.
Kyle and Summer had dinner at Society. Kyle told his wife what his dad advised, and they agreed to put their mothers on notice. Summer wasted no time in sending her mom a text message, which Phyllis got while having a whispered telephone conversation with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) about their plans.
Phyllis and Diane ran into each other outside Society, and they immediately started snarking back and forth with each other. However, Phyllis quickly realized Kyle and Summer set them up, so she alerted Diane to be on her best behavior. Both women looked through the window, and their children waved back at them.

Y&R Spoilers Recap: A Family Affair
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) wasn’t too happy to see his brother, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), in Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) suite. However, both Nick and Sally let him know their being together during work hours wasn’t any of his business.
Adam asked to talk to Sally alone, so Nick left. Adam flat-out asked Sally if she’d slept with Nick, but she danced around the subject by turning it around on Adam. As far as Sally could tell, it didn’t matter since they were both single. Adam once again told Sally he wanted to be with her, but she remained unmoved by him and declared that they were entirely over.
Meanwhile, Nick ran into Chloe Mitchell Fisher (Elizabeth Hendrickson) at Crimson Lights. They talked about Sally, and she seemed to suspect that maybe something was up. However, she defended her Chief Executive Officer, and Nick also expressed his belief that Sally would continue doing well at Newman Media.
Later, Adam showed up, and he accused Nick of sleeping with Sally. He wondered how Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) or Sharon Newman Rosales (Sharon Case) would feel when they found out about what Nick did. Nick wasn’t at all thrilled with the way his brother talked about the situation. Adam wondered what happened to his and Nick’s newfound connection and empathy.
Sally returned to the office, and Chloe called her out about how she got Nick to become her number one fan.
Coming Up Next On Y&R Spoilers: An Ultimatum
Coming up, expect to see Jack give Diane an ultimatum. Will it be about her constant bickering with Phyllis? If the two of them can’t figure out how to get along, then it seems like their jobs at Marchetti could be doomed because they’re causing Kyle and Summer stress. Those two are still in the honeymoon phase of their marriage, and Jack wants them to get to enjoy these early years together, especially considering their upcoming vow renewal.
