The Y&R spoilers recap for Thursday, October 20, 2022, brings the walls closing in on Diane Jenkins as Ashley Abbott, Nikki Newman, Phyllis Summers, and Talia Morgan continue probing for details about Diane and Tucker McCall’s connection.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) met with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) at the ranch, and the women seemed surprised that Tucker (Trever St. John) stood up Ashley for dinner. However, she explained he’d had an emergency with Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). Nikki advised Ashley to give Tucker a chase, and Ashley admitted it would be hard. Even so, she promised to continue trying to get Tucker to open up to her.
After Ashley left, Talia (Natalie Morales) walked in, and she told Nikki and Phyllis that an influential person had put pressure on her editor to cancel the series of stories Talia had planned on Diane (Susan Walters). They suggested the powerful person was Tucker. Phyllis left, and Talia and Nikki continued talking. Talia was enthralled by the possible Tucker connection, and Nikki added in even more details about Diane and Tucker’s previous romance. All Talia needed to move forward with her book was some hard evidence.
Young and the Restless: Losing It
Diane gushed over Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) honeymoon photos to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). He mentioned he was glad their kids could get away from all their worries, and Diane complained that he wasn’t trusting her due to Phyllis’s theory that she and Tucker McCall were together in Los Angeles.
She absolutely lost it with her frustration over the whole thing, and Jack pointed out that neither Tucker nor Diane had given convincing answers about all the coincidences, and he admitted that he doesn’t trust Diane. Again, Diane yelled at Jack about how disappointed she was, but he told her he had to get back to work, leaving her upset.

Phyllis walked in, and Diane told her not to even start, but Phyllis said she liked their truce. Then, Phyllis got her digs in about Jack no longer believing Diane, and she revealed that Talia was in town and knew about her connection to Tucker. Diane insisted she wasn’t looking to create trouble, but Phyllis told Diane that she wasn’t going to stay in Genoa City and live her life in peace after all the trouble she caused in the past. After Phyllis left, Diane went to Jack’s office and turned on the tears. She confessed that Jack was right that Diane hadn’t told him something she was ashamed to admit about her time in Los Angeles.
Tucker ran into Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) at Society. He tried to be charming, but she wasn’t charmed. Even so, she agreed to sit down with him while she waited for her food. Victoria snarked at him about the way he tried to impress Ashley. Tucker gave as good as he got, though, by asking about Ashland Locke (Robert Newman), but she declined to talk about it. Then, he pointed out that Newman Enterprises was stronger than ever.
Victoria pointed out that he was supposed to be at an Ashram, and she wanted to know about the spiritual part of the retreat. Tucker sidestepped her question and told Victoria she was a perfect blend of her parents. Then, he asked some probing questions about Victoria’s upcoming business plans, but she seemed on guard.
Victoria suggested that Tucker might be looking to purchase something, but he said he planned to simplify and go into semi-retirement — maybe even in Genoa City. Victoria didn’t find it believable, though, and she wondered if he planned to take up pickleball.
Then, Victoria changed subjects, and she asked what he thought about the Chancellor-Winters merger, and Tucker said he thought it was good. Then, Tucker flat out told her that he didn’t plan to go after Newman Enterprises. Ashley walked in as Victoria’s food was ready, and Victoria left, wishing Tucker good luck with his semi-retirement.
Ashley expressed her disbelief, letting Tucker know that she couldn’t imagine him retiring. Tucker continued to insist that he was a changed man, but Ashley seemed less than impressed. She gave him grief for standing her up, and he offered to have lunch (again), so she agreed even though she reminded Tucker that his charms weren’t working on her.
Tucker waxed poetic about how simpatico he and Ashley used to be. She didn’t think he was being genuine, though, and shot down all his efforts at reminiscing. Even so, he went on about what a great team they’d been, and he said everything he was he owed to her. Tucker reminded Ashley how she fought for him when he was on life support.
He also brought up Dominic, and they both agreed their mutual grandson seemed amazing. He suggested they take him out to play, but Ashley said not a chance. Then she left as Tucker got a call from Nikki, and she invited him to stop by the ranch.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: Family News
Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) had good news for Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks), and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) joined them. The lawyer let the women know that a pregnant woman was interested in getting to know more about them as prospective parents for her unborn child. They had tons of questions, but Christine didn’t know all the details. Even so, Tessa and Mariah were thrilled to find out that much.
Christine gave them information about the woman, whose name is Joss, and advised them to email her. Even Sharon thought that it was a great step. The women left Sharon and Christine together, and Sharon thanked her for helping Mariah and Tessa. They talked about how Christine had helped Sharon and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) adopt Cassie Newman (Camryn Grimes). She asked Christine what the newlyweds’ chances were for adoption, and Christine seemed hopeful for them.
Mariah and Tessa returned, saying they’d looked over the birth mother’s details, and they wanted to move forward. They wanted to know when they might hear from Joss, and Christine warned them that it might take a bit. Mariah and Tessa couldn’t wait, and Mariah said she was so ready to start a family with Tessa.
Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) went to the Glam Club, and Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) instantly realized something was wrong with her even though he wasn’t thrilled to host her. She admitted that her job wasn’t going well. He offered Audra her “usual” drink, which he apparently remembered, and then Noah sat down to talk a bit.
She asked what he was thinking, but Noah suggested she go somewhere else in town because she brought trouble everywhere she went. Audra acted hurt, but Noah called her out on what she’d done to Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang). She acted like she didn’t know what Noah was talking about, but he wouldn’t let her get away with it. Audra said she missed Noah, but he didn’t fall for her games, and he reiterated that he was through with her.
Audra insisted that they had unresolved feelings, pointing to Noah’s irritation at seeing her as proof. Then, Allie walked in, and she noted she hadn’t expected to see Audra there. Audra left, noting that Noah had suggested she go to Society. Before she showed up at the club, Allie got some advice from Jack about how to handle Audra, and she took it to heart.
