The Y&R spoilers recap for Thursday, March 24, 2022, is all about family. Nate Hastings makes a huge move while Lily Winters and Devon Hamilton come to an agreement about their family business merger. Plus, Phyllis Summers tries to distract Jack Abbott while his newest family member, Allie Nguyen, receives some unsolicited family advice from her new friend “Taylor Jensen.”
Nate (Sean Dominic) still seemed upset about misjudging Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). However, he decided to make some major life changes to shake things up. First, he met Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) at the penthouse, and he wanted to buy it. Of course, he needed to let Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) know, but she seemed okay with it while noting that it did seem sudden.
Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) was also surprised to see his cousin buy back the penthouse he’d inherited from Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John). Of course, Devon was happy to have him back in the building. Then, they went to Lily (Christel Khalil) and Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) apartment for a business meeting.
Lily and Devon came to an easy agreement on how to handle the merger, but Nate wasn’t quite sure where he fits in. Devon surprised him by offering him the COO position at the Hamilton Winters division of the megacorp he and Lily planned to make. After some initial concern, Nate went ahead and accepted it, even though it seems like companies in Genoa City will make anyone COO these days.
Speaking of COO, Chancellor Industries COO, Billy, had great success with his first podcast, and Lily wanted to know when he’d have more. However, Billy voiced his concerns that he had nothing more to say, but Lily doubted that very much. She encouraged her man to capitalize on his early success by continuing to build his audience with episode two.
Devon went to his penthouse where he talked to Neil’s picture. In a bittersweet moment, he let his late father know that the Hamilton Winters family was coming together just like he’d always wanted.
Jack (Peter Bergman) was content to follow Traci Abbott’s (Beth Maitland) advice to leave well enough along with Allie (Kelsey Wang), but then Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) urged him to call his granddaughter.
Jack ended up with legitimate Jabot (the company still exists!) business that would soon take him to Los Angeles, so she encouraged him to call Allie in advance. He did, and Allie shot him down, which left him despondent. Phyllis took him to Society to try to cheer him up.
Back in Los Angeles, Allie somehow opened up to Taylor, AKA Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). Taylor/Diane advised Allie to lean on what family she does have in the wake of her father’s death. After all, Taylor/Diane knows all about loss, and she’s survived even more than you could possibly imagine.
Allie took the buyer of her late dad’s house advice to heart, and she called Jack, accepting his invitation to coffee when he comes to L.A. soon. Taylor/Diane overheard, and she seemed pleased at the development.
