The Y&R spoilers recap for Wednesday, July 13, 2022, brings Ashland Locke’s shocking return to Newman Enterprises — at least for a moment. Plus, Victor Newman demands Sally Spectra do his dirty work, Adam Newman propositions Ashland, Billy Abbott creates drama with his potential new hire, and Imani Benedict pulls a fast one on Nate Hastings.
Well, after Adam (Mark Grossman) offered to team up with Ashland (Robert Newman) to share with him Newman family weak spots, Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) ex-husband just took his show on the road. He showed up at Newman Enterprises, shocking Victoria and Victor (Eric Braeden). What does he want? To say some things…hmm.
The father/daughter duo had just argued mildly over Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). Victoria wanted to fire her, but because Victor had demanded earlier that the fashion designer turned CEO make Adam (Mark Grossman) return to the family fold, Victor wanted his daughter to hold off. Of course, Victoria didn’t want Adam to return, so…there’s that.
Speaking of holding off, Adam ran into Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) at Newman Media, and Nick tipped off his younger brother that Victoria planned to sack his girlfriend. Nick gave Adam an evening to try to figure things out before he spoke with Sally. Regardless, it seems as if Sally’s days as Newman Media CEO may be numbered.
At Chancellor Winters, Billy (Jason Thompson) was all gung-ho about his podcasts while Devon Hamilton (Bryton James)…was not. Of course, when Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) spilled the beans that Billy was The Grinning Soul too, Devon perked up a bit after he’d worried Billy wasn’t a proper Chief Operating Officer for Lily.
As for Billy, he met with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) right after she told a not-too-happy Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman) that she had to bail on their collaboration. Billy surprised Chelsea by asking her to join him as his co-host on his self-help podcast. Earlier, Lily had seemed uncomfortable when Billy referred to Chelsea as his “partner,” but she got on board, and it looked like Chelsea was on board too.
Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) confronted Imani (Leigh-Ann Rose) about her machinations when it came to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Imani denied she’d done anything wrong, and then she got a text that their mom had a minor seizure. Since the text also asked for Amanda, she rushed to be by their mom, and when she told Devon, he went with Amanda.
As for Imani, she met Nate at Society, informing him that Sally had to “cancel” their meeting. Nate wasn’t pleased and tried to leave, but she got him to stay by talking about her mom’s downturn. Nate stuck around to soothe her worries.
