The Y&R spoilers recap for Friday, July 1, 2022, brings a true Independence Day for Victoria Newman as she finally throws Ashland Locke to the curb after swindling him out of the money he took from her family. Plus, Chelsea Lawson and Chloe Mitchell Fisher seem to be moving towards freedom from each other while Adam Newman wonders if he’ll soon have less freedom as Newman Enterprises CEO.
Y&R Spoilers Recap Highlights
Let freedom ring for Victoria (Amelia Heinle) because she finally, at long last, got the best of that lying liar Ashland (Robert Newman). Sure, he walked in and caught her getting ready to leave before she was prepared, but that didn’t throw Victoria too much off track.
She finally told Ashland everything. The whole entire plan to leave her family and move to New York with him was just that — a scheme to ensure she got back the money he took from her family to leave. Victoria never fell back in love with Ashland, and she declared she’s no longer a woman he can manipulate. Plus, he obviously never understood her at all if he ever thought she would leave her family behind.
Sure, sure, there’s a little matter of the fraud Victoria committed by stooping to Ashland’s level, but she dared him to try to do something about it. Victoria had way too many details about Ashland’s various fraudulent activities throughout the years. So, Ashland is well and truly nothing…or so Victoria believes. Regardless, she never wants to hear from him ever again. Never.
Young and the Restless: It’s Over
Speaking of things being over, Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) finally told Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) that their situation wasn’t working. Instead of trying to work something out, Chelsea went on the attack, saying plenty of things that she can’t easily take back.
While Chloe only meant that they needed to take a step back and redefine things with their working relationship, it looked like these two might end up calling it quits for all things professional and personal.
Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) happened upon Chelsea as she stormed off, and he followed her to Chancellor Park. They had a cordial discussion, and Billy lent a listening ear and some grown-up advice. In the end, Chelsea realized perhaps Chloe had a point in what she’d been trying to say.
Meanwhile, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) showed up and offered Chloe a friendly face to talk to. Chloe wasn’t in the best of moods, but she seemed receptive to Sally, which was good considering what Adam (Mark Grossman) agreed to earlier — that Sally could hire whoever she saw fit as her COO, which meant Chloe.
Y&R Spoilers Recap: The Bright Side
Speaking of Adam, he wasn’t at all thrilled to find out the jet flew to New York City to pick up his sister. In fact, he’d planned to use it that evening to take Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) to a sporting event. Oh no! Now the little boy would be crushed. Of course, his father was even more upset because he realized what Victoria’s return would likely mean for his position at Newman Enterprises.
After Sally gave him a pep talk about all the other reasons Victoria might be visiting, Adam confronted Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) on the patio at Crimson Lights.
Y&R: Family Matters
Before Adam arrived, Billy showed up demanding the Newmans tell him what was going on with Victoria. Victor insisted it was a family matter and that Billy wasn’t family. His advice for “Billy Boy” was to go wallow some more in his podcasts, which Billy took as confirmation that Victor was a listener — oh boy, oh boy.
It seemed that Victor understood what Victoria was doing, but neither Nick nor Nikki did. They sat around waiting for her to arrive back in Genoa City.
